Welcome back!
I used elf Eyelid Primer ($1 at Target or eyeslipsface.com) as a base for my shadows. For this look I chose two palettes (Top- custom quad from MAC. Bottom- Urban Decay Naked Basics)
Taking a small angled brush. I applied Charcoal Brown to the lower lash line.
We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)
Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.
Let's get started...
First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.
Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.
I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products. Physicians Formula CC Cream and powder. Now, normally I'd apply CC cream and THEN conclear but I wasn't feeling well so I did it backwards (give me a break, I wasn't thinking clearly!) I finished the skin with a light dusting of the powder. I still haven't decided if I like this powder or not. Look for more info. on this in a future review.
I filled in my brows with Milani's Brow Tint Pen. This product is great and very natural looking. I held my brows in place with a clear brow gel.
I applied W.O.S. from the Naked Basics palette all over my lid with a flat shadow brush.
Using the same brush. I applied MAC Dazzle-light on the inner corner and brow bone, as a highlight.
Taking a fluffy blending brush. I applied MAC Soft Brown in the crease.
Using a crease brush. I applied MAC Charcoal Brown to the outer corner and blended it into the crease.
I used the fluffy blending brush again and using the shade Foxy from UD Naked Basics, I blended the shadows together. Enjoy the action shot in the lower pic. Haha! Remember, windshield wiper motions!
I curled my lashes to really open up my tired and sick looking eyes. Then lined my upper lashline with my new Covergirl Bombshell liner in Chocolate Kiss. More to come on this product in a future post.
For mascara I chose Covergirl Bombshell. This makes my lashes really full and dark. Which is perfect for photos.
I also lined my water line with my Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude. This takes away any redness caused from being sick and tired (literally)
I chose a bright pink blush. Tarte Fearless. This lasts for hours, photographs lovely and the tiny shimmers add a beautiful, healthy glow to the skin.
I am not a fan of touching up my makeup throughout the day. Which means setting sprays are my best friend. I set my makeup with NYX Dewy Finish setting spray. More on this product coming in a future post.
And we're done! You can't see from the photo but I'm wearing a black T-shirt and jeans (AKA Adela's standard outfit) I threw on a fun, bright colored scarf to add a pop of color to my outfit. You want to try to wear a bright color to liven up your face when you're sick.
I hope you enjoyed this and picked up a few tricks you can use on your next sick day.
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

I love how you break down everything you did. I never tried a finishing spray before. I'm not a fan of NYX products but I'm a big fan of their price point.
ReplyDeleteI didn't use them for the longest time. I bought the ELF one (I think it's $3 and then I was hooked) I use powder foundations most of the time and the setting spray takes any powder-y look away and really locks it in place. I am going to do a review on setting sprays soon. NYX seems to be hit and miss with me. So far, I really only like the setting sprays and some of their glosses. Thanks for reading :)
DeleteOoh. I didn't know you used the NYX setting sprays! Looking forward to the review. :)
ReplyDeleteI've only used the Dewy one. I heard it gives a better finish than the Matte one. Still working on my post about them...It's hard to say much about products that do the same thing. haha
