A closer look at the Coastal Scents Revealed Palette

Welcome back! I hope you all had a magical Hanukkah, Christmas, or whatever else you may have celebrated over the past week! Today I will give an up close look at my new love, Coastal Scents Revealed Palettte. For those of you that didn't check out my last post about the most recent BoxyCharm box. I received this palette in that box. I will link it below. This palette retails for $39.97. However, it is on sale for $11.97 right now on the Coastal Scents wesbite (link below) Click here to view my most recent BoxyCharm box Click here to view Coastal Scents website Now let's reveal (get it?) the palette! This is what the packaging looks like. I appreciate how sleek it is. This would be so travel friendly. One draw back is that there is no mirror. I prefer to have a nice big mirror in palettes like this, especially for traveling.  This palette contains 20 shadows in 5 matte and 15 metallic finishes. They don't seem to be placed in any particular order so I ...

BoxyCharm: Jingle Belles

Hello!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. I received my December box yesterday. I was SO excited to get my grubby hands on this box. Specifically the eye shadow palette. You'll see why in a minute.  On to the box! Here's what the box looks like when you open it... Here is the list of products... As always, I will start from the top of the list. Coastal Scents Revealed Palette-  Start screaming NOW! This palette is gorgeous! I've only swatched a few shadows from it and I was blown away by the pigmentation. It contains 20 nude and metallic finishes. I can't wait to play with this baby! Lina Lashes Luxury Mink Lashes- Beautiful and glamorous lashes these definitely won't give you a natural looking lash but they will be perfect for a special occasion. I've heard these can be used way longer than drug store lashes so we shall see!  Mistura Beauty Solutions Retractable Beauty Brush- I was looking forward to this too. I have owned a few of these types of brush...

Makeup of The Week

Welcome back! I thought this would be a really fun post. I was chatting with a girlfriend and she asked what my makeup looks like when I'm at work. This past week I took a picture of the products I used and of the finished look. This will not be a tutorial style post but a brief run down of the products I used.  Here we go! (I want to mention...if you notice my eyes are puffy or I look tired in these pics that's because I am! I put my makeup on within the first 20 minutes of me waking up. Which is anywhere from 3:45-5:00 am. Give a sister a break!) ~Monday~ One of the first things I ask myself when I'm getting ready is "Do you want eyeliner or not?" I will alter my makeup depending on my answer. Today I obviously didn't want liner. So I went for a brown-taupe lid with mascara. This is the makeup I used for this look... Winter Skincare Must Haves

Hello There! I don't know about you but my skin gets rather lizard-ly...dry, itchy, and feels tight this time of year. As a result, I need to step up my moisturizing game. Today I will share my go to face and body products for the winter months. My face tends to be the first area to get dry. Why? Maybe because it's exposed to the harsh elements of Northern California. Haha! But seriously, when my face is dry it makes my makeup look blotchy and uneven. Especially my concealer and foundation. There's nothing cute about those clinging to patchy skin. I switch out my gel cleansers for creams. I really like this Garnier cream cleanser. It makes my skin feel clean without feeling stripped of it's moisture.  I'll treat my dry patches with Nivea Soft Cream. I buy this little guy for $1 something at Walgreens. It's enough to last me all winter. I have even put this all over my face and it never caused a breakout.  I moisturize the rest of my face and neck with a heavy mo...

Sponsored Post: Insta Natural Youth Express Eye Serum and Eye Gel Review

Hello again, ***SPONSORED POST**** These samples were sent to me by BrandBacker for review. As I have mentioned before, I have signed up to work with different companies that will send me samples of their products to try and review. I was beyond thrilled to try these products because as you know, I am a bit obsessed with skincare products. Especially eye care products! I received the Youth Express Eye Serum. What's in it? Vitamin C Plant Stem Cells Astaxanthin Kojic Acid Passion Flower Caffeine Hyaluronic Acid Niacinamide What does it look like? The packaging is typical for a serum. It comes in a dark glass bottle with a dropper. The product itself is orange.  Does it have a scent? It does have a slight orange scent to it. Nothing over powering and you don't notice the smell once it's absorbed into the skin. How do you use it? Instructions say to apply day and night to a clean dry face. It can be worn under makeup...

Adela's Classics: Smokey Eye and Nude Lips

Hey there! The holiday season is upon us. Which means holiday gatherings are quickly approaching. I decided to put together a few "Classic Looks" that I will be sharing over the next few weeks. Today will be a smokey eye paired with a nude lip. I tend to go for this look when I don't want to worry about the up keep of a bold lip. No one wants their lipstick looking like a mess during a holiday party. Let's get started... Before I started I applied my foundation, concealer, contour, blush, and highlight. (Click the link below to see my tutorial on this) Click here for that post I prepped my eyes with Milani Eyeshadow Primer and allowed it to set for approximately 30 seconds. I will used two eyeshadow palettes for this look:  1)Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone 2)Urban Decay Naked Basics Taking a flat eyeshadow brush and the bronze "crease" color from the WNW palette. Apply this all over your lid.  Using a fluffy crease brus...

Back To The Basics: Foundation, Concealer, Contour, Blush, Highlight

Hello! Today I will show you how I apply foundation, concealer, contour, blush, and highlight. You may not do all of these steps in your everyday routine (I know I don't) but they are nice for special occasions, when you're having photos taken, or when you're just feeling fancy! I will be using a 3-in-1 compact from IT Cosmetics. This was a kit from QVC a while back when it was a TSV (Today's Special Value). It came with this palette, the brush I use for my foundation, and some other stuff. I have gotten a ton of use out of this thing. I have seen it at Ulta too. It's definitely worth checking out. Step 1: Foundation This is very different and specific to your skin type. I have combination skin (not too dry or oily on the outside of my face. Oily in the T-Zone). I recently started using Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation and LOVE it! It has the right amount of coverage and controls my oily areas all day. Before I apply my foundation I apply a moisturizer a...
