The Power of Makeup

Hello again! Thank you for joining me today. What did you think about my video announcing this post? If you aren't part of my private blog group on Facebook then you have no idea what video announcement I am talking about. Please be sure to join for the most up-to-date information and extras. I have seen this video on YouTube a few times and I love seeing the transformation. It is easy to see when you take before and after photos but what better way to REALLY see the difference than doing half your face. Today's makeup is heavier than I usually wear but I am really happy with the way it came out. I wasn't so happy about my lashes coming off on the inner corner but that was user error. I hope you all enjoy this post. If you want to see how I achieved this look then scroll your little heart out! Here is the look I came up with. HUGE difference, huh? Here we go! First things, first- I applied a pore minimizing primer to my moisturized face. I used this sample o...

Faithful Friday: It's ok to be a little black rain cloud

Hi Everyone! First of all, how many of you starting singing that song from Winnie The Pooh??? I did! Today I want to talk about something not so pleasant...being sad, mad, down, or just off your game. We've all been there. It's something that we might not feel comfortable talking about or admitting but it happens so we are going to talk about it! I know most of my posts are uplifting but let's take a look at the "little black rain cloud" side of things. So here we are, something has come up and totally brought you into a deep-dark place. Maybe you feel sorry for yourself, maybe you feel like the world is against you, maybe you feel like no one understands you. Whatever it might be, you're upset and you have no plans of getting over it any time soon. What do we do about it??? How do we get over it??? Well, that depends on your personality, temperament, and situation. Personally, I go through quite a process to get over things. Sometimes I get ov...

Faithful Friday: Let your faith be bigger than your fear

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Faithful Friday. Today we are going to talk about…. The picture above has been a wallpaper on my iPhone on and off for the past couple of years. I think it is important for us to be faithful and brave. As a growing Christian, there are times when I come up with an idea, this blog for example. I had been told for YEARS that I should start a YouTube channel and I tried recording a few videos. I couldn't get used to talking into the camera and I didn't feel that I had my heart in it. So now what?? I posted pictures of makeup and would share information with friends but that wasn't enough. Dare I start a BEAUTY BLOG!?! No! Absolutely not! Never! Who is going to take the time to read it? Who is going to care about what I have to say? I'm not a good writer. Those were my first thoughts on blogging. Over time, the idea just wouldn't leave my mind.  I thought long and hard for months about blogging and here we are today. Bl...

Ulta Birthday Haul: First Impressions & Mini Reviews

Hi everyone! If you follow me on Instagram or are part of my blog group on Facebook then you probably saw my post about my Ulta order. As most of you know, my birthday was last month and I was given an Ulta get card that was burning a hold in my pocket. haha! It just so happened that Ulta had a 20% off your entire purchase a few weeks ago so I paired that with my gift card and got some things I have been wanting to try. On to the goodies! NYX has come out with quite a few products I have been wanting to try so I snatched them up! I was getting low on my setting sprays so I took advantage of the sale and ordered back ups of them. I have heard great things about this powder. I was really impressed by the texture of this powder. It's very silky and blends in nicely to the skin. I got this to set my under eye concealer. I have used it once and I was really happy with the results. I noticed that I had less creasing with this than I do with my tr...

Ready for Fall Makeup

Hello again! Thank you for joining me today. If you read my last post you know I am more than ready for Fall! I've had my fill of hot and humid weather! I love the colors of Fall and those colors used in makeup looks are my favorite! You may notice from the photo…or maybe you didn't…go ahead, study the photo (crickets chirping) Notice anything different??? I dyed my hair! It doesn't show in the photo but I went for a dark red violet color. As soon as I saw myself with this new darker color, I couldn't wait to do this makeup look for you. Enough with the blabbing.  Here is a picture of the finished look. The eyes are a mix of warm browns and bronze shadows, a black winged liner, and a smokey lower lash line. Cheeks are a warm nude. Lips are a cool nude, which is the perfect way to transition into Fall colors. If you want to see how I created this look then keep on scrolling! I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. If you like warm tones, I highly rec...
