Trust The Timing

Welcome back to another blog!  Thank you for joining me today. I had a completely different topic selected for todays post but this topic came to my mind and I decided to share this instead. Today I want to share something I have found a lot of us have either gone through in the past or are going through currently. It is trusting the timing of your life, specifically God's timing.  If you are not a believer, I urge you to stick this one out and read it to the end. I would love to hear your feedback on this topic.  Before we start, I want to remind you of one thing. As a Christian, I believe that God has created each of us for a specific purpose. He chose the color of your eyes, the hair on your head, your laugh, your smile. Every inch of you was thoughtfully planned when He created us. He also wrote your life story from beginning to end. So here you are, this perfect little human that was given to your parents to live out your life on Earth. You grow up and things ...

It's OK To Not Be OK

Hi Friends! Hope you all are doing well today.  In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I would like to talk about the importance of mental health today. Now I am no professional in this area, I am simply a girl that has learned a lot about my own mental health over the past several years.   Let's address the elephant in the room... The stigma attached to mental health. This stigma doesn't exist in the Adela Told Me world. I completely believe that it is OK to not be OK. As I said above, I am no expert in this area so let me share some of my own experiences.  First up... Anxiety. Good ole anxiety. The truth is I didn't know I suffered from anxiety until I was an adult. Growing up I would often get stomach aches or if something stressful happened I would get the sudden urge to run. Like literally run, like Forrest Gump, right out of wherever I was. I learned later this was a reaction my body had to anxious feelings. I also learned not to own anxiety. I would ...

Lists, Planning, & Mom Life

Hi Friends! Welcome back to another blog. I hope you had an amazing weekend.  A good friend of mine asked me how I balance work and home life and it got me thinking. So I decided to post about how I manage it.  Let me paint a picture of what my daily life looks like... I have a big girl job in which I manage a business and an entire team of people. It can be very stressful at times. So the boss babe card is full. I have a family, which consists of Mr. Adela Told Me and two school aged children. One of which is in sports, sometimes two at a time. So the mom card is full. To add to the fun, we have animals, property, a garden. Homemaker card is full. Oh yeah, then I decide to add in blogging again along with all of the social media platforms I use to promote myself. We live a very busy life between practices, games, school drop offs, dinners, home chores, lake days, etc. You get it, we're BUSY! I would love to tell you that life doesn't stress me out but that couldn't be fart...

Be Your Own Hero

Hello Friends and welcome back! Today we are going to discuss a topic that I have discussed with many people in my life. The reactions I get from sharing this story are very similar... a lot of teary eyes, a lot of "Wow's" and a lot of "Atta girls". In my last two posts I touched on needing to take a break from blogging due to life circumstance. Let's dive into that topic, grab a snack because this could take a while.  Let's go back in time, I was well into my career, I was living in an great neighborhood, and I was in a long term "healthy" relationship. Life was good. Or so it seemed from the outside looking in. I bet for some of you reading, you picked up on the "healthy" relationship nugget of information I dropped there, didn't you? Now I do know a good bulk of my readers on a personal level, but I don't know all of you. So for those of you that lived this tale with me, you may have been there to pick me up when I couldn...

Jump In With Both Feet

Hello friends! Welcome back to another post. I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. This week I will share something that may seem silly to you.  When I decided to start blogging again, I did it because I wanted to have a place where I could connect with others to share the things I love. Blogging is more than a hobby for me, it's a form of journaling too. A place where I share my thoughts and allow myself to "brain dump". Over the last 8 years I was away, I always felt this fire burning inside of me to share my wild thoughts and ideas with the world. I shared the story featured in todays post with a major blog supporter/friend of mine and she thought it would be a great idea to share this with you all. So this post is dedicated to the lady I will refer to as "Miss K". Hey girl, hey! Thank you for your support! Here we go... You ever get your mind set on something you feel like you're 100% ready to jump in with both feet? Yeah, that was me a few months ...
