Hello again! Thanks for stopping by. Today I'll be sharing my go-to makeup look, step-by-step. Which is what I wear most days. It's a neutral eye, a fresh face, and a touch of color on the lips. You'll see me transform from blah to tah-dah!!
Let's get started!
First, start by prepping your freshly washed face. This is the moisturizer, eye cream, and primer I am currently using.
Next I apply concealer. It's best to apply concealer BEFORE powder foundations (we'll get to that in a minute). If you wear liquid, apply your concealer after your foundation using the same technique. By applying your concealer in a triangle shape it really brightens up the center of your face.
Set concealer with your foundation. I've used this foundation for several years. It is very buildable and is lightweight on the skin.
On to the brows! In my opinion, eye brows frame your face and totally transform your makeup. See the difference in the lower left pic? A filled in brow really lifts the eye.
Another important step is to prime your eyelids. This hides any imperfections and gives your shadows something to cling to. It also makes your shadows last longer. I've been using this Jordana Eyeshadow Pencil for a while now and I'm liking it so far.
Now for my favorite part, eyeshadow! I am obsessed with my Naked Basic's Palette. I use it nearly EVERYDAY! My brushes are a mix: (with silver tips) Sigma, the angled one is Mary Kay, and the "Crease" brush is from Target.
Take the shimmery color, Venus
on an E55- Eye Shading Brush. Apply it around your tear duct, bringing it towards the center of the lid slightly, and under your eyebrow. This serves as our highlight.
Take W.O.S. (Walk of shame for those of you that were wondering) on the same brush and apply to the rest of your lid, blending up to the browbone color.
Take Naked 2 on a E40- Tapered Blending Brush. Apply this color in your crease in windshield wiper motions. This will be our transition color and help us blend the darker shadows in a moment.
Take Faint on an E70- Medium Angled Shading Brush and apply it in your crease. Start from the outside and work your way in. You want the most color where you want it the darkest. I always start with a little bit and then keep adding to it till it's as dark as I want it.
If you want it a little darker, continue with this step. Otherwise, skip on to blending.
Take a little bit of Crave on the same brush and apply it to the outer corner using a dabbing motion.
Blend, blend, blend to your hearts content! I probably spend the most time blending. The key to a soft eye look is blending! Use windshield wiper and circular motions.
I add a little bit of Crave and Faint along the lower lash line with an angeled brush and blend them together to complete the look.
Then curl those lashes!
Eyeliner is next. I always switch up my eyeliners. Sometimes I use gel, pencils, or in this case, liquid. Jordana FabuLiner in brown. The felt tip makes it very easy to use. I use brown because I think black looks too harsh for my skin tone. I do a slight wing with mine. I think it really opens the eye and makes your lashes look fuller.
Mascara time!! I have about 3 or 4 different tubes of mascara going at once,
so I switch them up often. Today I'm using Covergirl Bombshell. This is a two step mascara. I apply two coats of side 1. Wait for it to dry. Then one coat of side 2 to really darken my lashes up.
This little guy/gal is awesome! And a trick most people neglect. Line your waterline with a NUDE pencil. Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude. I know there's a hype about white but, No! Trust me, nude is the way to go. It makes you look wide awake and really brightens the eye. I use it everyday. No matter what makeup look I'm wearing.
Let's add some color back into our face! This is one of my favorite blushes. Tarte Peaceful. It's a peachy-pink with a hint of shimmer. Make sure to blend!
We're almost done...just a touch of color for the lips. Jordana Twist & Shine in Cranberry Crush. I LOVE these! I have them in a few shades. They are moisturizing, give great color, and smell fruity. For a few bucks a pop, you can't beat them!
Now to set our foundation. Lightly mist your face with your favorite setting spray. This takes any powdery look away and makes your makeup last longer. I love MAC Fix+. It's one of my splurges.
We're done. TAH-DAH!
I hope you enjoyed this and found it helpful. If you'd like reviews or more info on any of the products mentioned please let me know. Until next time!
