Get Ready With Me: Out to dinner

Welcome back!
I was getting ready to head out to dinner and of course, decided to blog about it. Now, when it comes to fashion comfort is key! If I'm not comfortable, I'm not wearing it! Let's get started...

Makeup is first. These are the products I'll be using on my face.

After moisturizing, I applied a light layer of Baby Skin primer all over my face.

For concealer I used The Dark Circle Eraser under my eyes and Fit Me by Maybelliene to conceal any redness on my face. You'll notice in the photos one side of my face is blended. What a difference a little concealer makes, right?

Next is my tried and true foundation, Balance n Brighten by Laura Geller. I've mentioned this in previous posts. I love this stuff and have used it for years.

I filled in my brows with Prestige Brow Perfection pencil and topped them off with a clear brow gel to hold them in place.

I picked this up on a whim at Walmart and was so impressed by its quality! It dries to a sticky finish so it gives your eye shadows something to cling to.

I decided to switch up my eye look which is something I don't do very often. This is Romantic Mauves from Avon. It kind of goes along with the Rose toned eye trend right now. And it looks awesome on my green eyes too.

I applied this shimmery white/pinkish color to my inner corner and brought it on to the lid slightly.

I used this rose color two ways. First take a flat shadow brush and pack it on the lid using patting motions. I blended this into the white/pink shade. Then taking the same color on a crease brush applied it to my crease.

I applied this taupe shade in my outer corner to create some depth.

I like my outer corner to be darker than this so I went for the shade Crave from my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I applied it to my outer corner and my crease to intensify the look.

I blended out my shadows using a fluffy brush. Then went in with the lightest shade again to re-highlight my inner corner, the center of my lid, and my browbone.

Taking an angled brush I applied the two darkest colors in the quad to my lower lash line and blended them out to create a soft smoky look.

I curled my lashes using my favorite ELF eyelash curler. I always curl lashes before applying liner because it helps me get as close to the lash line as possible.

I used my favorite gel liner-Maybelliene Eye Studio in Brown with a Sigma E65 Small Angle Brush. I start my gel liner from the outside corner and work my way in. I find it gives me the best shape that way.

I applied a two or three coats of CoverGirl Clump Crusher. This stuff is amazing!

I lined my water line with my favorite nude liner.

I applied Maybelliene's Master Glaze Blush Stick in Just Pinched Pink. Then blended out with my finger.

For lips I used Jordana Twist & Shine in Cranberry Crush. This is a gorgeous Berry color and it lasts for hours.

To set my makeup I used Mario Badescu Facial Spray. This takes any powdery look away from your makeup and helps it last longer. It smells wonderful! It has a very fresh Rose scent to it. I use this after I wash my face if I'm feeling extra dry.

That's it for the makeup!
On to the outfit...

I got dressed before I applied my makeup so I spritzed on one of my favorite perfumes. Marc Jacobs Honey. It reminds me of a Clinique Happy type scent. Very fresh, yet sweet. Perfect for times when I don't want a heavy perfume.

For my oufit, I picked a simple white tee (Target), black cardigan (Old Navy), and Skinny Jeans (Old Navy), black flats (Target), black and white printed scarf (Shop Lately).

That wraps up my Get Ready With Me! I hope you guys enjoyed it. Let me know if you'd like to see more of these in the future.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
