Skincare Routine: Morning Edition

Hello again,
Thanks for joining me. Today I will share my morning skincare routine. I have come to enjoy my morning routine as it eases me into my day. Nothing feels better than starting off the day with a fresh, clean face.
So pin your hair back and let's go!

This is the face wash I am currently using. I really enjoy it. It is a gel formula with tiny beads that burst as you wash. It has a very fresh scent which really does invigorate my senses in the morning. This is the Target version of Clean & Clear Morning Burst. Washing your face is so important...Especially in the morning. Your skin cleanses itself while you sleep. Which means it secretes oil, dirt, makeup, bacteria, and other impurities. Gross, right? One if not all of those are the reasons why you should wash your face in the a.m. On a brighter note, clean skin creates a fresh surface for your makeup.

Quick Tip: When drying your face use gentle blotting/dabbing motions. You don't want to pull or tug on your skin.

Now for another important step, Moisturizer. This one is great to wear under makeup. I'm almost out of it and I definitely plan on repurchasing it. It's very light weight and doesn't make my combination skin oily throughout the day. I can't say enough about moisturizing. If you have oily, combination, or dry skin. Moisturize! It's one of the easiest ways to prevent premature signs of aging. Dry skin looses it's elasticity. Which in turn, causes wrinkles. Think of moisturizing as giving your skin a drink of water. Drink up, baby!

Quick Tip: Don't neglect the neck. Always apply moisturizer to your neck. Unless you want to look like Mr. Turkey.

For the eye area I try to stay away from products that are too heavy during the day. These are two products that work well with under eye concealer. I was blessed with dark under eye circles so concealer is a must for me. They are both very lightweight and soothing to the skin around the eyes. My eyes tend to be a bit puffy in the morning and these also help with that. The roll on has a metal ball which is perfect for puffy eyes.

Quick Tip: Apply your eye product out to your temples to help fight crows feet.

Occasionally my skin feels very dry and tight after I wash it. I'll spritz my face with Mario Badescu Facial Spray and it almost instantly feels better. Then I will apply my moisturizer and continue with the rest of my routine.

Quick Tip: Use this spray to set your makeup. I love when products can be used multiple ways.

I allow these products a few minutes to work into my skin before I apply my makeup. That completes my morning skincare routine. I hope you found this helpful. Please feel free to ask me any questions about any of the products or steps mentioned.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
