Mermaid Eyes: Inspired by JulieGBeauty

Welcome back!
I was inspired by this gorgeous look JulieG posted on Instagram. I wore this out last weekend and got so many compliments on it. It's a bright look which is out of my comfort zone. Here is a photo of Julie's makeup.

Isn't it beautiful?!? When I saw it I knew I had to recreate it! I'll show you how I did today...

First take a bright teal shadow on a small shadow brush and apply it to the middle of your eye lid using patting motions. Mine looks matte here but it actually has a satin finish to it (keep in mind I don't have studio lighting like she does)

Using a big fluffy brush apply a sheer purple color in your crease using windshield wiper motions.

Using this dark blue shadow I applied it to the inner and outer corner of my lid using the same small shadow brush. Take time to blend this darker shade into the teal we applied earlier. Then I took this shimmery ivory color as my highlight. Remember you can re-apply the teal if you lost any of it's vibrancy in the blending process.

Next I lined my eyes with a black liquid liner. I created a pretty good sized wing for this look.

I applied my concealer under my eyes and a few coats of mascara to my upper lashes.

I took the dark blue shade on an angled brush and smudged it under my lower lashline. Then lined my water line with a black waterproof eyeliner. Julie used teal but I didn't have one so I chose black.

I took this iridescent white and applied it to my inner corner using a small pencil brush.

I applied my HUGE falsies!

Taking that same small pencil brush I applied this sparkly lime green color on the inner corner of my lower lashline.

I contoured using my favorite bronzer.

Applied a bright pink blush.

And highlighted with one of my favorite highlighters.

And we're done! I forgot to take a pic of my lips. I used NYX Round lipstick in Sky Pink.

Here's a photo inside. I was so happy with the way it turned out.

Here's a photo in natural light.

I hope you enjoyed this fun look. I know it's not your typical "Everyday look" but it's fun to play with colors. If you haven't followed JulieG on Instagram I highly recommend you do. She also has a YouTube cannel.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
