Hello again!
I hope you are having a good week so far. This morning I was getting ready and decided to take you along with me as I got ready for work. I thought it would be fun to give you a little peek into my morning routine. For those of you that don't know, I do not, I repeat DO NOT have some glamorous job where I get to play with makeup all day.Without putting all my business out there, I'll just say I wear scrubs to work.
Enough blabbing! Grab your cup o' joe and let's get ready for work!
This is what I'm starting off with. My face is washed and ready for makeup.
This is what I came up with today. You can't tell from the photo but I was wearing Navy scrubs with a purple long sleeved shirt underneath. Super fashionable right? The purple long sleeve was the inspiration behind this purple eye look I did today.
After I washed my face I applied this light weight moisturizer and primed my skin with this Mirabella primer from BoxyCharm.
Then I took this awesome foundation and applied in in patches all over my face. Then blended in with this huge Tarte brush.
I used my tag team concealer: Maybelline Fit Me (around my face) and Instant Age Rewind (under the eyes). I blended these in with my finger tip.
To keep the concealer in place all day I applied Elf HD Undereye Setting Powder under my eyes and Rimmel Stay Matte in my T-Zone.
Brows are one thing I cannot go without. Yes, even when I am going to work! I use this lovely group for my brows. I start with the wax and blend that into my brows, fill in with the powders and top with a clear brow gel.
See what a difference brows make?? It is hard to tell unless you see them side by side. That my friends, is why I wont do a full face of makeup unless I do my brows.
I finished the other brow and then prepped my lids with this eyeshadow primer. I have had this tube for almost a year, if not a full year yet and I swear this stuff never runs out! The tube feels just as full today as it did when I first bought it.
I was feeling like a fancy pants today so I decided to use my delicious Chocolate Bar palette. I love the smell of this thing. I tend to smell any kind of product I am using anyway so this is a huge bonus. If you love the smell of chocolate, give this beauty a whiff next time you're in Ulta. It's yummy!
I used Milk Chocolate on a fluffy brush in my crease and blended it up towards my brow bone.
Then I took White Chocolate on a flat shader brush and applied that under my brow for a slight highlight.
I wanted a dark purple base for my lid. So I applied this Elf Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in the shade....I have no idea. Why? Because Elf failed to put a sticker on the actual product. I lightly blended this over my entire lid.
I took Candied Violet, again on my finger and dabbed in on top of the purple base.
For an inner corner highlight I took Champange Truffle on a small detail brush.
I just couldn't get enough of the purple shadow so I took a stiff detail brush (I think this is actually meant to be an eyeliner brush) and smudged the purple base under my lower lash line.
I took more Candied Violet on a smudger brush and smudged it into the the dark purple.
I lined my lower water line with Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude.
Then I curled my lashes and applied a few coats of mascara.
I wanted to keep the rest of the face neutral since I went bold on the eye. So I chose this beautiful rosy tan blush by Tarte.
I applied NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu and set everything with a few sprays of NYX Dewy Setting Spray.
I got dressed and quickly styled my hair and headed out the door!
This is the finished look...
P.S. aren't my little anchor earrings the cutest?? My sister gave them to me :)
I hope you enjoyed this look. If you'd like to see more of these, please comment below.
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela
