Updated Skincare Routine

Hello Again!

I have totally changed my skincare routine since the last time I talked about it. You may remember in my last few posts (a few months ago) I was having a hard time with my skin. It was breaking out in weird patchy areas and it was really dry in others. Needless to say, it was time for a change because my skin was not happy!  I also want to mention that I was on a liquid foundation kick and I am convinced that had a big part in my skin issues. I don't know why, but my skin does not do well when I wear liquid foundation regularly. If you'd like to see what foundation I am using now, please let me know and I will definitely post about it.

Ok, Let's get to the products...

P.s. honestly, this post isn't sponsored by Simple or CeraVe. I just love their products.

Simple Cleansing Wipes~ I decided to give these a try because the Simple products were on sale. I picked this up when I got the face wash (I talk about that next) These are the best wipes I've tried in a long time. They don't burn my eyes at all, have a nice amount of moisture to them, and quickly remove my mascara. Depending on my mood, I will use these all over my face. Other times I will use the eye make up remover and Micellar Water.

Simple Eye Makeup Remover~ My eye area has been giving me problems lately. Thanks to my allergies. I use this on a cotton round (the non-fibrous kind) and it takes off my eye makeup super fast. It is so gentle it feels like I'm using water. This doesn't burn or irritate my eyes at all.

Simple Micellar Water~ I didn't know what to make of this stuff at first. Like, it's water. Why is that different from faucet water, right?? I use this on a cotton round (the regular fibrous kind) as well, this cleanly takes off all of my foundation and concealer. I've heard that if you're wearing a heavy foundation, this doesn't work. But for the foundation I use, it works like a dream!

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash~ The First thing I changed was my face wash. This is the first face wash I've ever tried from Simple and I love it! I wasn't sure about it at first because it is a clear-ish product. I thought for sure it was going to dry my skin out but it didn't! It totally evened out my skin. Within 2 weeks I noticed a huge change in my skin. I already bought a back up of this. I use this day and night.

St. Ives Even & Bright Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange Scrub~ If you followed my blog before then you know I used to use Lush's Ocean Salt Scrub. Let's be honest, Lush is EXPENSIVE! I just can't justify using something that pricey a few times a week. Now, I have a history with St. Ives. I used the Apricot Scrub years ago and went to a Dermatologist and she scared the you-know-what out of me when she said that was the worst scrub to use on your face because it tears your skin (on a microscopic level) I don't know if that is true or not but I am not willing to risk it. I saw this when I was browing the skincare aisle of Walmart and it smelled really good. It's a nice fresh scent. It's a very fine scrub. I use this about twice a week.

CeraVe AM and PM Facial Moisturizing Lotions~ I first picked up the AM lotion because I was out of day time moisturizer and needed a new one. I learned about this from Cora (vintageortacky on Youtube) she raved about the PM moisturizer. She actually uses it for AM and PM. Any who, I tried the AM and I was in love. It is thick and creamy and makes my skin feel so good! It doesn't make me oily during the day. The next time I went to the store I picked up the PM. This one is lighter than the AM- which I thought was weird for a PM moisturizer. I love it! These paired together have done wonders for my skin.

CeraVe Eye Repair Cream~ I've been using this for a month or two and I still don't know how I feel about it. I haven't noticed a difference in my eye area at all. My skin is moisturized but I don't notice a change in my fine lines and dare I say...wrinkles. Eek! haha

Derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A&E Treatment Oil~ I wanted something very moisturizing product for my eye area. I went on a hunt for Vitamin E Capsules. I read on Pinterest that there are two formulas, types?? I don't know if that's the right word. But basically, you want the purest form or Vitamin E and none of the capsules had the right one. Back to the beauty section I went (Such a tragedy... NOT!) I came across this product in the natural-ish section of CVS. I use this a few times a week instead of the eye cream. I really like this and I feel like it soaks in nicely over night. Oh, I guess I should mention that I only use this at night. I'd be a hot mess if I dared put concealer over this stuff.

Now if that isn't a revamped skincare routine... I don't know what is! I am really happy with the results I am getting from these product. If you find yourself in a skin rut, don't get discouraged as you tweak your routine. Give your skin ample time (I say 2 weeks minimum) to adjust to your new products. Unless of course, you're having a terrible reaction. Then stop immediately. Keep in mind that our skin changes with age, weather, diet, hormones among about a billion other things.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Please comment below and let me know what products you've been loving lately.

Thank you so much for your continued support with my blogging endeavor. It truly does mean the world to me and I love sharing with you all!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
