Faithful Friday- 30 in 30

Hello Again!

I decided to share something I have done several times over the past year or so. It's called the "30 in 30 Challenge" This is something Joyce Meyer challenges her followers to take part it. If you haven't listen to Joyce, I highly recommend it. She is an awesome woman of God. She is honest, straight to the point, and has a great way of getting her message across. I have the app on my iphone and I watch/listen to her regularly. I will link to Joyce's website below so you can check her out.

The 30 in 30 challenge is reading your Bible for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. If you find it hard to read your Bible regularly or even if you do. I think it's a great and effective way to get more of God's word in your daily routine. As a Christian I am called to be "Christ Like". Those are some BIG shoes to fill my friends! God's word is pure and true. When I read those words I take the time to soak them in and really meditate on them. Re-read or highlight scriptures that stand out to you. Make notes if you need to. It can be a bit challenging to give yourself 30 minutes to read your Bible. But come on! If we're being honest here, you know you have no problem sitting in front of the TV, browsing the internet, or checking out Facebook for way longer than 30 minutes! Do yourself a favor and feed your soul a healthy dose of His word. I promise you that it wont be time wasted.

One thing I wanted to talk more about was highlighting and making notes in your Bible. It was something I struggled with for a while so I came up with this solution.
I have several Bibles... One was my Grandmothers and I can't bring myself to make any changes to it at all. I've kept her book marks and pictures right where she had them (The Book of Psalms). It was given to me when she passed away and I cherish that Bible. Don't get my wrong, I cherish them all but there's something extra special about this one. Knowing that she read THIS one. Knowing that her hands held THIS one. Knowing that it was given to her when she was baptized. It makes it that much more special.  Another is one was given to me for my birthday a few years ago. Again, couldn't bring myself to mark that one up. So what is the solution? Never have some kind of a reference? No. Fill up a million note books with notes. Tried it, it got annoying. So I decided to get a paperback Bible (well my mom got us both one) and I use that as my study Bible. It has a nice margin so I can make notes when I need to. I highlight that thing like it is going out of style and it doesn't bother me at all. I thought I would share that for those of you that have similar feelings about marking your Bible.

If you try the 30 in 30 Challenge, let me know what you think. I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any tips on how you highlight or mark your Bible, please share!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
