Faithful Friday: Trusting God's Timing

Hello and happy Friday to you all!

I am so looking forward to the weekend! Today I am talking about timing. No, I don't mean how long you cook a roast in the oven. I'm talking timing as in God's timing.

We never know how our life is going to unfold. What is going to happen when and so on. Sometimes it's easy to get discouraged when you reach a point in your life when you thought things would be a certain way and they're not. For example, When I was younger (in High School) I thought for SURE that I would have it all figured out by now- Actually, I thought I had life in general figured out back then. How hilarious is that? I had it all planned: I was going to get married and have ALL of my kids by the time I was 28. Well, I'm 31 now and neither one of those things have happened. Thank God!

What I'm trying to say is that it can be difficult to remind ourselves that God is in control. Repeat after me: GOD. IS. IN. CONTROL. We have to be patient and trust in His timing- IN ALL THINGS. That's a lot harder than it sounds! Trust me! I am one of the most impatient people I know. I want everything like, 5 minutes ago. Haha! Maybe the "plan" you had for your life isn't working out, maybe, just maybe, that might not be what God has planned for you, right? Bottom line, things will work out in the end. Maybe the reason why you always fight with your boyfriend is because it isn't meant to be. Maybe the reason why you aren't happy at your job is because there is something better out there for you. Open your eyes and pay attention to new opportunities. Sure you will have times of doubt, sure you will get impatient. Try to remind yourself that God has this covered. When I am feeling discouraged I pray- something similar to this: "Lord, You know my heart. Thank You for blessing me and loving me. Thank You for my wonderful life. Give me patience and peace while I wait for Your plan to unfold. Give me the knowledge to choose the right path. Remind me to trust in You. Amen". Then I can go on about my life and stop obsessing over it. Try praying something like this next time you're feeling down, you will feel so much better after you do.

I hope you enjoyed this Faithful Friday! Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
