Bare Minerals Face and Eye Tutorial

Hi everyone,
I decided to change up my makeup routine and go back to my Bare Minerals Foundation. I wore this exclusively for years and when my BB Cream came into my life, I put this away and didn't reach for it anymore. It was good stuff so I don't know why I stopped using it. I thought it would be fun to pull some other Bare Minerals products from my stash and use them too.
These are the products I used:
Prime Time Foundation Primer
Original Foundation in Fairly Light
Mineral Veil
Blush in Pink Petal
Eye Shadow in Iced Coffee
Concealer in Bisque

I used Prime Time when I first started using this foundation years ago. This was the first primer I ever used and to be honest back then I had no idea what a primer was for so I wouldn't use it most of the time. Rookie mistake! If you want your makeup to last...use a primer!!!
This tiny tube came in a Bare Minerals Mini set Ulta had on sale a few months back. The primer has a really nice slippery texture to it. I actually like the way this feels on my skin.

I had family in town for a the past few days so that means I've been going to bed late and waking up early! Therefore, I knew I couldn't skip my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I applied that how I normally do and set it with this powder called Bisque. I used a max coverage concealer brush from Bare Minerals to set the under eye area. I wasn't too thrilled with how shadow-y my under eyes were with this powder. You'll see what I mean at the end of this post. I do have to note that my concealer didn't crease when I used this. So that was a plus.

Now for the foundation. I like to use a kabuki or dense type of brush to apply this foundation. Today I chose a flat top Eco tools brush and buffed this into my skin. I forgot what a natural coverage this foundation gives. You definitely get a natural look with this foundation.

I went over the top of my foundation with a fluffy brush and Mineral Veil. Mineral Veil gives your skin a bit more coverage with a slight airbrushed look. It's a really nice powder but it will look ashy if you apply too much so be careful!

I primed my lids and did my brows as I usually would then started on the shadows. Because I have such a small collection of their shadows I pulled one to be my lid color. This is in the shade Iced Coffee. I forgot how pretty this shadow was! I used to wear this all of the time. The great thing about their shadows is that they are so fine that it takes a very small amount to get a good look with them. I patted this all over my lid with a flat shadow brush.

I brought in my Naked Basics 2 palette from Urban Decay to finish this look. I used a fluffy brush and the shade Cover to warm up my crease.

Then I took a round brush and applied Primal to the outer corner (please excuse the powdery palette in this pic. I forgot to dust it off before I took the photo aka real life!)

I highlighted the browbone and inner corner with Skimp.

Smudged a bit of Primal on the lower lash line and brought in the ole Liner and Lash Crew!

I applied this really pretty, bright pink blush called Pink Petal to my cheeks. This stuff can really pack a punch if you're not careful. I put a tiny bit in the cap and swirled my brush into it really well.

And we are done! I didn't use a finishing spray because I wanted to remind myself of how well this foundation wears throughout the day. It lasted surpringly well and it was ridiculously hot today. Not to mention that I was outside chasing our new baby tortoise all over the place so he could get some sun.

You can see that I have some shadowing under my eyes. But like I mentioned above. I haven't been getting that much sleep since Wednesday so I won't blame all of this on the powder.

Notice how natural my skin looks in this picture. It looks pretty on the skin but it doesn't look as blotchy in person.

I really like how that shadow brings out my eye color. Over all I would say that I was pleased with this look. I wouldn't wear it if I were going to take pictures or something like that but it's nice and simple enough for daily wear.

I hope that you enjoyed this post. If you use Bare Minerals, tell me your favorite products! I'd love to know what other products from the brand stand out or work well.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
