Are You Listening?

Hello again!
We are back again with another Faithful Friday. This is going to be a spin off of Wednesday's post (in a way) In case you've been living under a rock and missed my last couple of posts... Let me catch you up- There are some changes happening in The Adela Told Me Headquarters. The "Higher ups" aka God is telling me that it's time for some changes. I admit that I didn't listen to Him and even tried to ignore His prompts for a while now but I have decided that it's time I start listening to Him because He isn't going to let this one go.

So open your ears and your eyes...

There is going to come a time in your walk that you are going to be asked to do something that you maybe never pictured yourself doing. For instance, I never in a million years thought I'd have a blog, let alone a faith based blog! I never in a billion years thought I would be part of the Women's Ministry team at church, I never in a trillion (is that what comes after billion? I'm bad at math haha!) years would have thought I would be asked to speak in church as a result of that. I was terrified to speak in church. TERR-I-FIED! There's lights up there! There's a microphone to speak into! What if I fall on my face walking up the stairs?! (there's like two of them by the way) What if I forget what to say? What if I cry?? Don't be fooled. All of those things that were scaring me were just satan's tactics of trying to get me not to do it. I'll tell you this, I prepared a speech for that day and guess what??? When I got to church that morning (feeling like I was going to barf) I was told that I wasn't giving my perfectly prepared speech, I was answering questions instead! I think I will remember this for the rest of my life because this is one of the biggest times when I had to seriously fight myself and listen to the Lord. Without rambling further, I will end this portion by saying that I ended up answering the questions and I can only hope that at least one person that day was touched by what I said.

My point is this- You will probably have to go through something similar, if you are diligent and listen to the Lord then you are allowing Him to change you into who He wants you to be. I can tell you from my own experience that the changes are AMAZING and only something that He can do in you. So if some "crazy" idea pops into your mind and you think that it might be something that the Lord is trying to tell you to do, then LISTEN to it and you will be so blessed.

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. I will see you back on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
