Faithful Friday: Daughter of The King and A Marine

Hello Everyone,
As I was preparing the post I planned for for today where I show my prayer journal layout I couldn't help but feel the urge to write this post instead. For those of you that don't know, My Father and a large part of my family are Marines. I don't know if any of you know Marines personally but let me tell you, they are Marines for a reason! There is just something different about them. They're disciplined, they're protective, they're tough, they don't take any nonsense, and they are ALWAYS at least 15 minutes early. Which is probably why I live by the rule of "If you're not 15 minutes early, you're late!". Now I wasn't an easy child to raise, in fact, I think I am the one (out of 3) that gave them a run for their money. I was defiant and I went against pretty much everything my parents tried to teach me. I know that might be hard for some of you to imagine because my halo shines so bright now (NOT!) but just trust me, I put my parents through the wringer! As I've told you before, my rebel attitude got me sent to a private Christian school where I then began to learn about my Heavenly Father. I found myself being The Daughter of The King AND A Marine. How blessed am I to have two father's in my life!? One that died for me and one that was willing to as he bravely fought for our Country. Each relationship special in it's own way. Each one I cherish. Each one I am proud of.  I wanted to share this today because I realize that some of you may not have a father figure in your life so I want you to remember that you have a Heavenly Father that absolutely adores you! He will fill any void left by not having a father on this earth. I promise you that He will show you how it feels to be loved unconditionally, like any father loves his daughter.

I'd like to take a moment to Thank all of our Veteran's. I pray for blessings and safety for you and your families. Your willingness to sacrifice it all for our freedoms is not something I take lightly. Too often we take those very freedoms for granted. Again, Thank you all!

I hope that you all enjoyed this post. I will share my prayer journal set up next week.
Have a good weekend!
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
