Faithful Friday: Better or Bitter?

Hello and Welcome back to another Faithful Friday!
I have decided for now that I am only going to post on Friday's and hopefully as time goes on I will add another day (or two) back into my blogging schedule. I was listening to K-Love the other day on my drive in to work and they asked this question: During hard/difficult times in your life, have you become better or bitter? I thought that was a really good question. So I took the time to reflect and honestly answer the question. We all have had our fair share of hardships and we all have our own way of dealing with things. I honestly can say that most of the time I will get bitter at first. Especially when I feel like someone has wronged me. Think about it... maybe a friend, family member, or someone you never thought would wrong you has. You're furious right?? Thinking "How could they do that to ME???" "Why is this happening to ME???" I get it, trust me. But, (you knew there'd be a but) when it is all said and done. Honestly ask yourself if you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. If you're honest, most of the time it's really not that big of a deal once you get over the shock of it. Now, now... before you start screaming at me from your screen because "I don't know what you're going through" just wait. I promise I am going to enlighten you. You know I am a no non-sense type of gal. I have been in situations where I find that people I never imagined not having in my life have to get moved well, out of my life. and there is nothing wrong with that. The fact of the matter is, they don't owe me anything! My life will go on with or without them. So put them out of your life, MOVE ON with your life. Stop dwelling on it. Stop inventing arguments with them while you wash your hair (or am I the only one who does that? haha) What I am trying to say is, that I don't want to see any of you turn into a bitter person because someone treated you poorly. Don't let them have that much control over you!
I have learned that you have two choices in every situation: BETTER = You come out being a better person because of it. OR BITTER = you're a big cry baby that needs to dust yourself off and GET OVER IT!
If you can do this you will be so much happier in life! I have adapted this way of thinking and it took years to get myself to think this way but now, I can honestly say that I have no hard feelings towards the people that have wronged me. If anything, I pity them. I pray for them. I wish them well in their journey. It's not my place to sit here and bad mouth them and try to make others see their evil ways. The truth is, people have an amazing way of revealing their true selves, motives, etc. in time.
So, the point of this long post is: Don't be bitter! Be better! Rise above, show others that no matter what people do to you that you will continue to hold your head high and live the way you've been called to live.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a good weekend and remember to BE BETTER, NOT BITTER!

If you have a prayer request, please feel free to email me: ADELATOLDMEBLOG@GMAIL.COM

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
