Get Ready With Me: Dinner Date

Hello again!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend. Now that I'm recovered from my candy over load...it's time to get back to the blog. Last weekend I was heading out for a nice dinner and decided to snap some pics as I was getting ready to share with you all.

Here we go!

Quite a change isn't it? Haha! I'll share details on the outfit later in the post. But for now, let's talk makeup!

Starting with a clean face, I moisturized with my Avon Skin Revitalize lotion. I've really come to love this lotion and I believe it was being discontinued (BUMMER) it has tiny light reflecting particles in it that give a beautiful glow to the skin, I de-puffed my eyes with my favorite roller ball by Simple, and applied some yummy EOS lip balm. I let my moisturizers settle into my skin as I do my hair.

For styling products I use Pantene Ultimate BB Creme and L'Oreal Sleek it. I applied a pea sized about out each. Working it in from my roots to the end of my hair. These two are a great combo for my frizzy hair.

I section my hair and blow dry it in all different directions to start adding volume to my hair. (I.e. If you part your hair to the right side- blow dry it to the left side. If you have a layer in the back- blow dry it to the front). After my hair is COMPLETELY dry, I straightened it with my flat iron. If you use hot tools on your hair it's very important to completely dry your hair to prevent unnecessary damage. I clipped my bangs out of my face and went on to makeup.

For primer I used L'Oreal Pore Vanisher. This is a recent purchase for me. Not sure how I feel about this product yet. Look for more information on it soon. I concealed my under eyes and around my  nose with Maybelliene Fit Me in shade 15. I finished off my face with a light dusting of Laura Geller's Balance-n-Brighten.

I filled in my brows with Prestige brow pencil and held them in place with clear brow gel. Then primed my lids with elf Eyelid Primer. Seriously, if you haven't tried an eyelid primer you really should not makes your shadows last all day. This one is only $1! Pick it up on your next Target run.

I used this limited edition Maybelliene quad. I applied the lightest shade to my inner corner and brow bone. The taupe shade all over the lid. The gray in the crease. The dark brown/gray in the outer corner and outer crease. I also smudged the darker shadows under the eye for a smoky look.

I curled my lashes and lined my upper lashline Covergirl liquid liner in Chocolate Kiss. I did a slight wing for this look. Lined my lower water line with Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude. To finish off the eyes, I applied a few coats of Covergirl Super Thick Lash.

To add more of a glow to my skin I used these two beauties. I applied a light layer of Master Glaze in Just Pinched Pink and rubbed in with my finger tips and topped off with Master Hi-light in Pink Rose. This combo is gorgeous! If you want a healthy pink blush this is it!

I wanted the lips soft for this look. Being that we were headed to dinner I wanted my lipstick to last through the meal. To help hold my lip color in place I filled in my lips with Jordana Easyliner in Tawny. Then applied Born With It by Maybelliene on top.

I set my makeup with elf Makeup Mist and Set.

All done! On to perfume and outfit!

Because it was a dinner date I decided to wear a heavier (or as I call it "Night-time" scent. This one is one of my favorites...Billionare Boyfriend. It's a sweet yet musky (that's such a weird word) scent.

For the outfit I kept it classic Adela-Style.
Black/Gray Ankle length Skinnies from Forever 21. Blue top from Old Navy (it has the cutest button detail on the shoulder). Leopard flats from Target. I love the unexpected touch of leopard these flats give. I've worn them with so many outfits. Earrings also from Forever 21.

Well, that concludes my get ready with me! Dinner was amazing (incase you were wondering) :)

I hope you all have a good night. Thank you all so much for your continued support and comments. It means so much to me that you take time out of your day to read my blog.

Until next time...

Xoxo,
Adela

All products mentioned were purchased with my own money.

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
