I Went Shopping! Forever 21

Welcome back!
I recently purchased some accessories online from Forever 21 and wanted to share what I got and my customer service experience. I've purchased things from Forever 21 online several times before without incident. However, this time I had a bad experience. I wasn't going to post about this because I don't want to be negative but I do feel like I should let my friends know so you don't have the same experience I did. If you're not interested in reading my rant, feel free to scroll down to the pictures. Otherwise, let the ranting begin! This is what happened...One of the items (the one I wanted most) was missing and another was damaged. I promptly emailed Forever 21 (I would have called but it was after business hours). 2 days later I received a response from them saying I had to:
1) Sign an affidavit saying the item wasn't received. Once I sign the form, I have to fax it back to them. Then they will do an investigation (what is that supposed to mean? I spent $50. Do they really think I'm lying about a $4 pair of earrings?).
2) Take the damaged item to the post office, pay for postage, and send them a receipt showing what I paid for postage, then they will refund me.
So, of course I was irritated. I don't think I should have to take time out of my day to stand in line at the post office and then have to pay for shipping because they shipped a damaged item. I called Forever 21 and explained the situation to a customer service rep. She told me there was nothing she could do because that is their policy. I further explained that I didn't feel it was right that I was being inconvenienced due to their mistake. She put me on hold for a few minutes and then told me they will refund the money for the damaged item and I do not have to send it back. I was pleased with that. My advice is, if you are going to purchase accessories from them to do it in store, anything purchased online must be returned by mail. I'll let you all know what happens with the affidavit situation in a future post. Now that the rant is over...I'll share my new pretties!

First was this adorable scarf! I loved the anchor print and the tassels. It's light weight so I will be able to wear it during the warmer months. It was only $9.80.

I'm into big earrings lately I think they're a great accessory for people with short hair. They are textured hoops. These were $4.80.

I got these because I don't have a plain pair of hoops. Again, these are really big! But they're thin so I think I can pull them off. One pair is gold one pair is silver. These were $3.80.

These are the heaviest earrings out of the bunch. But they're not too bad. I love all the details in these. They were $4.80.

These are smaller than I usually go for but they were too pretty to pass up. These have small rhinestones on them that add the prettiest sparkle. These were $2.80.

These hoops are HUGE! I don't know what I was thinking when I got these but I think they're kind of cool and unique. They are surprisingly light weight. They were $3.80.

I was wanting some more silver bangles and these have a mirrored finish on the sides. I love bangles like this. They are so easy to wear and they go with everything. These were $3.80.

The last thing I saw was this cuff. I like how it looks like you have several bracelets on. The only thing is it's too big for my teeny tiny wrist so I'll have to bend it in some. It has a nice weight to it. It was $5.80.

I'm not including a picture of the damaged set of earrings I received because they have a lot of loose stones on them and I don't want it to make a mess all over the floor. It's a shame they were broken. They were really pretty!

So that's what I got. I hope my "rant" was helpful and hope that you don't have a similar experience.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
