Top 10 Polishes

Hey there!
The idea for this post came from my lovely friend, Stacey's YT channel. I loved her video so much that I had to do a post about my favorites.
As the title suggests, I will be sharing my Top 10 polishes. Well, sort of...

Purple~
Essie's Play Date and Julep's Gayle. Ok, Ok! I know it said 10 but Stacey said if you can't pick one then they're both your favorites so I'm sticking to that rule! Play Date is a favorite in the Spring and Summer. Gayle is a gorgeous, deep purple. Both look great on fingers and toes. Both have a good formula.

Blue~
Now I don't want you to think that I can't make up my mind. I'm a girl who knows what she wants...but when it comes to polishes I need my options! If these were the only two blue polishes I could own for the rest of my life (seriously) I'd be content. Orly's In The Navy and Essie's Butler Please. Again, they look great on fingers and toes and have great formulas. You can't go wrong with a bright, bold blue and a deep, dark navy. LOVE THESE!
Ps. In The Navy has the tiniest micro shimmer to it. You may even describe it as an opalescence. GORGEOUS! Moving on!

Green~
Can we please take a moment to applaud Julie G for knocking this baby out of the park! Mermaid's Tale is a fairly new addition to my polish family. I wish I hadn't waited so long to pick it up. Two coats of this and it will have you feeling like you're swimmin' along side Ariel. Love this polish. It's shimmery, glittery, blue, green, even a hint of gold. Take a peek next time you're in Rite Aid. It's a beauty!

Brown or Neutral~
I don't have many of these shades in my collection so this was a pretty easy pick. L'Oreal's Brit Invasion is a total Fall shade. It's a coffee brown with gold shimmer. Absolutely beautiful.

Red~
No hesitations when it came to picking a red. Essie's Forever Yummy is hands down my favorite red. This one can be a little tricky to get a smooth coat out of, so make sure you keep your coats as thin as possible. It can also be a pain to remove from your cuticles, be sure to apply some cuticle oil, balm, or lotion before polishing.

Pink~
The name of this polish cracks me up...Back to the Fuchsia. Please tell me you laughed too. This is a great pink. I wear this year round. In fact, when I want to something fun on my toes during the winter (yes, I keep my toes painted in the winter) I'll use this.

Coral~
The Right Thing from Nicole by OPI. I stumbled across this while looking through the clearance bin at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's a really pretty coral. I've only used this on my toes. It looks really nice when you have a bit of a tan (or a fake tan if you're SUPER white like me)

Black~
I couldn't decide on one black polish, so I decided to share these. Essie's Over The Edge and Licorice. Over The Edge is a gray-black. It's one of those polishes that looks black from a distance but has a gray sheen to it up close. Licorice is a nice straight up black polish. You can get great coverage with two coats. I use Licorice for nail art.

White~
Essie's Marshmallow is a really nice white. It's not stark white like most. I love wearing this when I want a light natural look.

Glitter~
Revlons Girly is just adorable!! It looks great on top on a purple or pink polish. I love to pair this with Play Date. It's packed with light and dark pink glitter, with a sheer pink base. It's a must have if you're girly...get it?

What are some of your favorite polishes?
This post was so much fun! Thank you Stacey for inspiring me.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
