Hello again!
It's been a while since I posted my last skin care routine, since then I have changed products. I found the need for a change in products after I started noticing dry areas around my face. At first I thought it was the weather but now I don't know if it's my age or what. The new products I am using have helped A TON with my dry patches. I tend to be dry everywhere but my T-zone. Lucky me!
There they are…The Dream Team. Haha! Seriously, this may look like a lot of products (and it sort of is, But when they're broken down to day and night it really isn't that many)
I'm going to start with my Night Routine...
Depending on the eye make up I am wearing that day, I will use an eye make up remover or a cleansing towelette to remove all of my makeup. I don't have a specific brand of towelettes that I use. If you've seen my empties you know all about that. I get my towelettes at TJ Maxx most of the time and I get whatever appeals to me. The eye makeup remover I am currently using is Maybelline Clean Express. It is really gentle and doesn't burn my eyes. For some reason I feel like I want to try another one. One that will really "melt" my mascara away. Even if I hold the cotton round on my eye for 30 seconds, I still find that I have to really wipe away the product. And I don't wear waterproof mascara! If you have any recommendations please let me know.
Now that my makeup is off, it's time to wash my face. Most nights I will use Clean and Clean Night Relaxing Deep Cleansing Face Wash. I really, really like the way this stuff smells. It has a relaxing scent. Even though this products is a gel, it doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped of it's moisture.
Once or twice a week I will exfoliate my skin. For the past year or so I've used Lush's Ocean Salt. I'm really happy with it and my skin reacts well to it. It's scrubby enough to remove my dead skin but gentle enough that it doesn't irritate my skin.
Now I moisturize my skin like it's going out of style! I picked up Desert Essence Gentle Nourishing Eye Cream at TJ Maxx. The past few drug store eye creams I had tried made my eyes irritated when I woke up. Not good! I decided to go a more natural route and see how my peepers liked it. I am about half way through this jar and I can tell you that I will be on the hunt for this baby next time I go to TJ Maxx.
Face cream is next. I try to use something very moisturizing and heavy at night. I want my skin to soak in all of the nutrients and moisture it can while I sleep. I go back and forth between Neutrogena Deep Moisture Night Cream and Avon's Skin Revitalize Night Radiance Cream. Both are very moisturizing and work wonders for my skin.
Now off to dreamland I go! Zzz!!!
Fast forward 8 or so hours....Rise n' shine!
Here comes my Morning Routine...
I wash my face with Garnier Clean + Smoothing Cream Cleanser. I think this stuff plays a major role in helping my dry skin! It's very gentle and moisturizing but it doesn't make my skin (T-zone) oily.
I still apply an eye cream in the morning. I have a slight addiction to eye creams. I use Desert Essence Daily Essential De-Puffing Eye Cream. Also from TJ Maxx. It provides the perfect amount of moisture and de-puffing-ness (you know what I mean!)
I then apply a light-weight, oil free moisturizer. Right now I switch between Avon Skin Revitalize Instant Radiance Lotion and Studio 35 (Walgreen's Brand) Oil Free Moisturizing Lotion. Avon's does give your skin a healthy glow, as the name implies. Studio 35 is a basic lotion. Both are great to wear under foundation and both have SPF in them.
That concludes my Morning and Night Skin Care Routines. I hope you enjoyed them and were introduced to a new product or two, or 20. haha!
What skin care products do you use?
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela
