A closer look at the Coastal Scents Revealed Palette

Welcome back!
I hope you all had a magical Hanukkah, Christmas, or whatever else you may have celebrated over the past week! Today I will give an up close look at my new love, Coastal Scents Revealed Palettte. For those of you that didn't check out my last post about the most recent BoxyCharm box. I received this palette in that box. I will link it below. This palette retails for $39.97. However, it is on sale for $11.97 right now on the Coastal Scents wesbite (link below)

Now let's reveal (get it?) the palette!

This is what the packaging looks like. I appreciate how sleek it is. This would be so travel friendly. One draw back is that there is no mirror. I prefer to have a nice big mirror in palettes like this, especially for traveling.

This palette contains 20 shadows in 5 matte and 15 metallic finishes. They don't seem to be placed in any particular order so I will start swatches in rows from left to right. These swatches do not have a primer under them. Are you ready to fall in love?

All in all I think this is a great palette, I can't help but notice how similar the shades are to the ever popular Urban Decay Naked Palettes. The matte shades swatch light but they are perfect for a crease/transition color. If you're lucky to snag this up while it's on sale it's a great value and much less expensive alternative. After I have a chance to play with this some more I will post different looks using this palette. What do you think about it?

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

*Disclaimer: This was purchased with my own money

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
