Adela's Classics: Smokey Eye and Nude Lips

Hey there!
The holiday season is upon us. Which means holiday gatherings are quickly approaching. I decided to put together a few "Classic Looks" that I will be sharing over the next few weeks. Today will be a smokey eye paired with a nude lip. I tend to go for this look when I don't want to worry about the up keep of a bold lip. No one wants their lipstick looking like a mess during a holiday party.

Let's get started...

Before I started I applied my foundation, concealer, contour, blush, and highlight. (Click the link below to see my tutorial on this)

I prepped my eyes with Milani Eyeshadow Primer and allowed it to set for approximately 30 seconds.
I will used two eyeshadow palettes for this look:
1)Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone
2)Urban Decay Naked Basics

Taking a flat eyeshadow brush and the bronze "crease" color from the WNW palette. Apply this all over your lid.

Using a fluffy crease brush and the "definer" shadow. Darken your outer corner and crease. Blending the shadow back and forth till you have a nice soft look.

Using a pencil brush and the shadow "crave" from the UD palette. Darken the outer corner of your lid.

Taking a fluffy shadow brush and the "browbone" shadow in the WNW palette. Highlight your browbone.

Next curl your lashes and apply a black gel liner to your upper lashline. I extend mine out into a pretty dramatic wing for this look to really make my eyes stand out.
Apply some false lashes. I chose a pretty full set of lashes to add to the smokiness of this look. Apply a coat of mascara to the false lashes to blend them with your natural lashes.
Line your upper and lower water line with a dark brown or black liner.

Taking a smudge brush and "crave" smudge out your lower lashline and blend with the "crease" shadow to make it really soft and smokey.

Using a small detail brush apply "Venus" from the UD palette around your tear duct.

Apply mascara to your lower lashes.

That's it for the eyes. Now on to the lips!

I lined and filled in my lips with Jordana's Tawny lip liner.

Topped that with MAC Viva Glam II. You can stop there if you want a matte lip. I wanted some shine so I added Peach Petal lipgloss from Revlon.

Last but not least, spray your face with your favorite setting spray (I used MAC Fix+)

And you're done!!

This is a beautiful look. I love the warmth the bronze lid adds to it. I hope you enjoyed it and will give it a try. I have another fun Christmas party look planned for you.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
