Makeup of The Week

Welcome back!

I thought this would be a really fun post. I was chatting with a girlfriend and she asked what my makeup looks like when I'm at work. This past week I took a picture of the products I used and of the finished look. This will not be a tutorial style post but a brief run down of the products I used.

Here we go!
(I want to mention...if you notice my eyes are puffy or I look tired in these pics that's because I am! I put my makeup on within the first 20 minutes of me waking up. Which is anywhere from 3:45-5:00 am. Give a sister a break!)

~Monday~
One of the first things I ask myself when I'm getting ready is "Do you want eyeliner or not?" I will alter my makeup depending on my answer. Today I obviously didn't want liner. So I went for a brown-taupe lid with mascara.

This is the makeup I used for this look...

Again, I wasn't feeling eye liner. You can't tell from the picture but my lid is a shimmery dark purple. It is a really pretty color and really makes my green eyes pop!

~Wednesday~
3 days in and I finally felt like eyeliner. Honestly, it was because I didn't want to worry about eyeshadow. This is my super fast and easy eye look. I wear this on days when I don't feel like taking a bunch of time on makeup or when I need to get out the door in a hurry. It's basic: Brown liner and mascara. Done!

This is the makeup I used for this look...

~Thursday~
The first day of the week that I actually felt like wearing eyeshadow AND eyeliner! Today I went with a gold lid with a matte dark brown in the outer corner, finished with a smudged out brown liner.

This is the makeup I used for this look...

Face:
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer (I forgot to include it in the picture)
L'Oreal Lumi Foundation
Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten
Coastal Scents Eclipse Concealer Palette (from BoxyCharm)
Elf HD Undereye Setting Powder
Tarte Blush

Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Covergirl Professional 3-in-1 Mascara

Lips:
Are you noticing a trend with my lip products? I very rarely will wear a lipstick to work so I tend to go for glosses and chapsticks. NYX Butter Glosses are some of my favorite lipglosses. They give just the right amount of color and last a while on my lips.

~Friday~
Today I was so lazy and didn't feel like doing makeup at all! I went with a very simple eye look:nude shadow all over the lid, some light brown in the crease, and dark brown liner.

This is the makeup I used for this look...

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
L'Oreal True Match Foundation
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind & Fit Me concealers
Tarte Blush
Elf HD Undereye Setting Powder

Brows:
Wax Pencil
Clear Brow Gel
Brow Fix Kit
(All Milani)

Eyes:
Elf Eyelid Primer
L'Oreal Cuppa Joe Quad
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Jordana Eye Liner

Chapstick

Until next time...
Xoxo,

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
