Revealed Palette: Daytime Look

Hello again,
Happy New Year to you all! I received this palette in my last BoxyCharm. These are the only shadows I've used since I received it. The shadows are gorgeous and the possibilities are endless! I'll link my last blog post below where I show swatches.

Today I wanted a polished, yet daytime appropriate look so I played around and came up with this.

I applied foundation, concealer, and brows before. My skin is going trough a whacky, break out, irritated, and dry phase. Yay for me! So I spared you the pain of me fighting my skin for an even canvas.
This is what I applied before:
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
L'Oreal Lumi Foundation
Maybelliene Fit Me and Instant Age Rewind concealers
Elf HD Undereye Powder (to set undereye concealer)
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (to set t-zone)

Ok, NOW we can get to the tutorial!

I prepped my lids with elf eyelid primer ($1 at Target, Walmart, or www.eyeslipsface.com)
Then applied Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige to my lids. This is a light, shimmery, champane color. As you can see, I use this a lot!

I applied this light brown shadow in my crease and blended it up slightly with a fluffy blending brush.

I took this champagne shadow on a small detail brush and packed in on to my inner corner and lid. To pack it on, load your brush with shadow, tap off the excess, and press it onto your lid instead of rubbing it back and forth like you usually would.

Using the same color and a flat shadow brush, I highlighted my browbone.

I darkened my outer corner and crease using a round crease brush and this darker brown shadow.

I took a big fluffy blending brush with nothing on it to blend out my shadows. I wanted this really light and soft looking so I took my time blending to make sure I didn't have any harsh lines.

I wanted something lighter but shimmery for my lower lashline so I smudged this bronze color along my lower lashline.

Next I curled my lashes and applied Rimmel Liner in Brown. Then smudged it out with an angeled brush. I lined my lower water line with this same kind of pencil in the Nude shade (but I forgot to take a picture of it)

Then I applied a few good coats of Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. Love this mascara! It's giving Clump Crusher a run for its money!

For blush I picked this peachy pink with a touch of shimmer from Tarte.

I didn't want to fuss with a lipstick so I went with a gloss. A NYX Butter Gloss of course!

I set my makeup with NYX Dewy setting spray and was on my way!

I'm really happy with the way this look turned out and hope you enjoyed it. I'm going to keep playing with this palette and will post more looks as I go.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
