Adela's Tips for Summer Ready Feet

Hello!
Thanks for joining me today. With warmer weather right around the corner it's time to ditch the boots for sandals! Today I will share my tips on prepping my feet for summer. Of course, you can always go to your local nail salon and treat yourself to a nice pedicure but I had a bad experience a few years ago and have vowed to never get a pedicure again!

Let's get started...

These two products are a team I can't live without:
Tree Hut Sugar Scrub & This nifty little buffing block I found at my local drugstore.

Let's get buff(ed)!

I don't know what these are called but I see them in just about any drugstore, Target, Walmart type store. This isn't a pumice stone. It is a stiff porous almost sponge looking thing. Some are square while others are this angled shape. They sell for a few bucks a piece and they work great and last a long time! I keep this little guy in the shower I buff my heels every week or so, or more during the summer. I've had this block for months now and it hasn't worn down at all.

Let's talk Foot Scrub~

Don't be fooled into thinking the nail salon uses a "special" foot scrub. It's just a sugar scrub, girlfriends! I always have a tub of this Tree Hut sugar scrub in my shower. While I'm showering I will take a small amount of the scrub in my hands and exfoliate my feet and ankles for approximately 30 seconds per foot. I also exfoliate my legs before shaving. It helps minimize razor burn and gives me a really close shave. I can't forget to mention that these scrubs smell AMAZING!!! I stock up on them when they're on sale. I always have a new tub ready to spring into action!

After I have exfoliated my feet I will apply a really hydrating foot lotion or body butter. If I have the time I will apply a pair of socks to really lock in the moisture. If you are doing this as part of your pedicure routine cut the toe section out of an old or mis-matched pair of socks and leave them on while you paint your toes.

I hope you found this post useful. With these quick 2 steps you'll have soft, summer ready feet in no time!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
