BoxyCharm: Celebrate In Style

Hello again!
Today I will share BoxyCharm's January box. If you are new to these posts, BoxyCharm is a monthly subscription service. Which means they automatically charge your credit card and send you a box filled with 5 full size or luxury size products. I will link their website below so you can check it out.

When I receive my box I do a quick post and tell you my first impressions on each product. I was supposed to receive this box a week or so ago but it got lost in the mail. Thankfully the people at BoxyCharm have excellent customer service and responded to my Facebook message and email right away!

Let's get to it!

These are the products we received...

This little card tells you a bit about each product and how much it retails for. As you can see, these products retail for WAY more than I paid ($21/month)

Beauty For Real The Perfect Pencil-
You notice on the box it says "The only lip pencil you'll ever need!" My thoughts: You don't know me, you don't know how many lip pencils I need! haha! I don't know if I would agree that this is the ONLY lip pencil you'll ever need but the color is universal, I can see this being worn with a variety of plums, browns, berry, or nude shades. I don't know how it would pair with pinks though, especially bright pinks. Trust me, I will try it!

Beauty For Real True Color Lip Cream in "Always There"-
Very full coverage lip cream. I love the color! It doesn't come across as orange when it's applied. This is very on trend with the "90's lip color". One thing I really like about this product is that it has a mirror on the tube AND the wand lights up! Perfect for taking it on the go.

Of course, I had to try these right away...
The top pic is the lip liner. It is a really nice color on its own but it is a bit dry like most lip liners are. I can see myself wearing this with a clear gloss over the top.
The bottom pic is with the lip cream over the top. It was a really nice combo. It made my lips look full and it lasted till lunch time. I'm excited to use both of these more.

Mirabella Face Prime-
I love primers! This has a very slick texture to it. I have not tried this on my face but I did apply a bit to my hand and it made my skin look and feel very smooth. I will be trying this very soon!

Pur-lisse Skin Sparkle Flash Tattoos-
Really? What's the deal with these things? I know these are trendy but I just don't get it. I mean, can you really see me walking around with one of these on?! Big thumbs down on this one!

Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum-
They redeemed themselves with this product. I am very pale. I don't ever get the dark, gorgeous, bronze skin people get in the summer. I get the I walked out to the mailbox and got a sunburn instead. So, self tanners are my BFF in the warmer months. I am excited to try this because the self tanners I use on my face can be a bit drying. This is supposed to hydrate your face and slightly tan it. Can't wait to use this!

Well that's all folks! What did you think about this months box? If you'd like to hear more about any of these products (other than the Cleopatra-esque tattoos) please let me know!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
