The Beauty Blogger Tag

Hello everyone!

I came across this fun tag while browsing through beauty blogs a few weeks ago. I enjoyed reading others answers so I figured I might as well answer them myself. If you aren't a beauty blogger, feel free to answer these questions (or a few of them) in the comments section. I would love to see your answers as well.

Here we go!

1. Is you hair naturally curly or straight?
Neither. It is slightly wavy, but not in the pretty way. It's in the frizzy, ugly way.

2. What is your natural hair color?
Dark reddish brown

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
Salon all the way! Right now my hair is a dark reddish purple color. I love it!

4. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it?
My hair is really short so I can't really do too much as far as putting it up and all. But I can do a few different things with the way I pin my bangs back.

5. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
Always my own! I used to have acrylics a few years ago, but I got bored of them so I took them off. I used to get pedicures all the time. Until I had a horrible experience, I went again after that. Honestly. I paint my toes much better than they do so I'd rather do it myself.

6. How often do you change your nail polish?
I change my polish on my toes about once a month. Unless I get a chip. Then I change is ASAP! I change the polish on my nails a few times a week. Although right now I am using a nail treatment so they don't have a color on them.

7. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just in the summer?
Both. I like to keep fresh polish on my toes and my fingers at all times.

8. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?
It depends on the day. Normal days it takes about 30 minutes. If I'm going to a special event it can take about an hour or more.

9. What do you do first, face or eyes?
Face. Unless I am doing a dark look or using a shadow that has a lot of fall out, I will do eyes first.

10. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I don't collect makeup. I only buy products I know I will actually use.

11. How often do you wear false eye lashes?
Not very often. Usually just on special occasions.

12. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
Yes

13. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone or with family?
Yes,

14. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes.

15. How many high end products do you have?
Not very many. Like I said above, I will only purchase products I know I will use. Which means I have swatched and read reviews on them before I buy them.

16. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
I wear scrubs to work so there isn't much to plan during the week. On the weekends I keep it casual and I semi dress up for church on Sunday. If I do pick out an outfit it's for church, but even that is rare.

17. How often do you change your handbag?
Not very often. I have several. I tend to change to a brighter bag in the spring and summer and a darker bag in the winter.

18. What time do you get you and go to sleep?
Monday - Friday I wake up between 4:00 and 5:00 am and go to bed between 9:00 and 10:00 pm.. Weekends I sleep in, if I can and go to bed whenever I feel like it.

19. Do you work out? How often?
Ha! No. I don't work out. I haven't for a lot longer than I'd like to admit. I do have a fitness plan in the works that I will be starting soon.

20. Left handed or right handed?
Right

21. How tall are you?
5 ft 2.5 in. Yes, I'm a giant!

22. Do you speak a foreign language?
Kind of?? I know ASL- although I'm a bit rusty.
I used to be fluent in Spanish when I was little. I understand it better than I speak it now. I think I would speak it more if I wasn't so self conscious about it.

23. How many pets do you have?
Nada. See...I told ya I speak Spanish. haha!

24. How often are you on Blogger?
A few times a week. I try to blog as much as possible.

25. Do you read comments on blogs?
Yes! On mine especially! So make sure you comment!

26. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Not really, if someone is talking about a product and it looks interesting I will make a mental note of it. Then I check it out the next time I come across it.

27. How did you come up with your blog name?
I wracked my brain trying to come up with a name. Mr. Adela Told Me actually came up with it. I liked it so I went with it.

28. What kind of camera do you use for pictures?
Good ole iphone. I am in the market for a camera. If you have any recommendations, let me know!

29. How often do you clean your house?
I tidy up just about every day. I have a post about my cleaning routine. If I've posted it by now I will link it.

30. What is your favorite color?
Black, I know. Black isn't a color. blah blah blah! So pink.

31. Do you swear?
Ugh! I regret to inform you that yes, I do. It's a horrible habit that I have tried to break so many times I can't even tell you. Pray for me.

32. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I am going to blog some more and then take pics of my empties so I can throw them out. I have quite a stash going. Then who knows, we'll see where the wind takes me, I suppose.

Phew!!! Did you all hang in there with me?? Did you make it to the bitter end? What kind of snacks did you eat?? haha! That was fun! Please feel free to answer some of these questions yourself if you'd like. Let me know what you thought of this post. I thought it was a fun way to change it up.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
