Top 10 Summer Blushes

Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful and restful weekend. Today we are talking about my Top 10 Summer Blushes. I love "summer colors" because I find that I can get away with a bit more sparkle and sheen when I've got a bit of color. Keep in mind that my "bit of color" is like zero, zilch, nada. I don't tan and I avoid the sun. I do self tan from time to time but that's too much work for me to keep up all summer long.

Let's talk blush!

This is the one and only cream blush I own. I've used a good amount of it and it seems to be one of those products that I use for a while (probably, during Summer) and then set aside when I'm using another product. When I do go back to this I always forget how beautiful it is.

You can see from the swatch that the color can be built up VERY easily. I will swipe a bit directly onto my cheek and then pat out with my finger tips. It has the prettiest, fresh pink color! It stays true to color all day and it doesn't smudge all over. It does leave a slight dewy look to the skin. Which is typical for a cream blush.

Now for the sister-product. Chances are- if I am doing to wear this blush, I will apply it over top of the cream blush above. Although I have worn them alone and they are still beautiful. This is a shimmery product, so if you don't like shimmer, I'd stay away from this one! As you can see from the pattern, you can pick which area of the product you dip your brush into (kind of). I swirl my brush around the whole pan and pick up a mix of all of the colors.

This swatch is from me swirling my fingers around the pan so I picked up all of the colors. As you can see it has such a pretty shimmer to it. It doesn't look "glittery" at all.  The blended swatch gives you a faint swatch of color. Love this blush!

Here are the two used together. Isn't it gorgeous?!?

Hang on to your hats, Ladies. This one is for those of you that want some bang for your buck! Don't be scared...Introducing Milani's Delizioso Pink Blush. Call me crazy, but I had to have this color as soon as I laid my eyes on it. yes, it is a HOT PINK blush. BUT...it's matte so you can get away with it. When it is applied with a light hand it is the perfect shade of a fresh looking pink. It totally brightens up my face. I am so happy that I have this in my collection.

See! I told you it wasn't that bad. It doesn't look over the top here but that is because I wanted to keep the swatches as realistic as I could. Now, if you want to wear it as pigmented as it is in the pan, go right ahead! Just don't tell people that "Adela Told" you to do that! haha

This one was a total shocker to me. I heard great things about Essence (sold at Ulta) This blush was $2 or $3! I expected this to oxidize- it doesn't, not have good color pay off- it does, or to just be bad- it's the total opposite! It might not look like much here but on the cheeks it is beautiful. I love this for light makeup days. It is a perfect blush when you don't want to look like you're wearing blush. The color can be built up if you need it to be, for instance, if you have a darker skin tone that I do.

See how soft it is? I can only describe it as "pretty"

Next up is this gigantic blush by Ofra. This came in a BoxyCharm. I really like this cherry pink color. This is another one that can be built up and it can get patchy if you have too much on your brush. SO make sure that you tap your brush off before applying to your face!

I was surprised at how this one swatched. I thought it was going to be really blotchy or streaky and it wasn't! This color would be great on darker skin tones. It's definitely one of the more dramatic colors in the bunch, but beautiful!

On to the high end blushes. I have a thing for Tarte Amazonian clay blushes. Why? Because they're pretty, they last all day, and they come in kits that you can find at great prices. Fearless was the second Tarte blush I owned. Believe it or not, I have used this thing SO MUCH and have had it for over a year and look at it. The impression is still in the product. It doesn't take much to get a great look.

This swatch doesn't do this color justice. It is a coral-pink with small flecks of gold glitter. Eeek! Yes, this blush has glitter in it. But don't worry, you hardly notice it once it's on your face. I mean, look at the swatch, it didn't even show up in a photo.

Oh, Peaceful. This was my very first Tarte blush! Isn't it beautiful? I love this color and will wear this any time of year. It is the perfect peach-nude color. It also has some glitter in it but again, you can't really see it on the cheeks. I've had this one for at least 3 years and I've hardly made a dent in it. I highly recommend you check Tarte blushes out if you haven't already.

This is a very light wash of color but on my skin is just pops. I love this color!

In keeping with the Tarte theme. We come to Amour. This one is matte unlike her sister's above. Amour is a bit more powdery than any other Tarte blush I own. It still blends in like a dream.

You can see what I mean about it being powdery in this swatch. But if I were using a blush to apply it that little bit of powder would have buffed right into my skin.  This is a true peachy pink and it looks awesome paired with a shimmery lid. Love!

I didn't know what to think of classic. It has a lot of orange to it. I thought for sure this one would be tossed aside or passed along to a friend but nope. She stayed! I use this on light makeup days because it doesn't look like I'm wearing blush. it gives me a natural flushed look.

See how it doesn't look like blush here? That's why I love it so much! It's perfect for the days when I'm only wearing mascara and brows (You guys know my brows are a must!)

If I had to pick one summer blush that I can wear any day with any look, this would be it. Hot Mama is a must have for me! If you are familiar with the Nars "O" (I wont say the full name because I think it's weird that they call it that, but I know some of you know what I'm talking about. And if you don't then you don't need to know! haha) Anyway, This is a shimmery, golden, coral blush. I love it!!! If you want to look like you've been on a tropical island then slap some of this baby on your cheeks and bam! Done!

It doesn't look like much here but it is SO PRETTY in person! Ugh! I can't get enough of this color!!!

And those are my Top 10 Summer Blushes. I hope you found this post helpful. Please let me know what your favorite blushes are for the Summer. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I will see you back on Wednesday! Enjoy the rest of your day.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
