My back up basket

Hey there!

The other day I was organizing my makeup and I pulled out my back up basket to see what treasures it held. If you know anything about me then you know that I don't like going without my favorite products. There are certain products that are tried and true and I can't possibly be without them! Ok, enough with the dramatics, but when I find a product that I like, I will keep one or two on hand. I try to stock up when they are on sale too. That really helps.

Here are all of the products laid out. It's not too many things but all of these are must haves.

As I mentioned above, I take advantage of the sales. These were buy one get on 50% off so I snatched them up! This is my favorite mascara. These are the same product but in different packaging.

My old friend, the $1 elf eyelash curler. By far my favorite lash curler of all time! I used my last one till the plastic handles crumbled away and it got too hard to squeeze. Since I have replaced it with a Revlon one that is similar. I came across this a few months ago as I was cleaning out my cabinet.

Jordana Fabuliner. I haven't had one of these for a while. My beloved Essence liner dried out so I needed a new black liner ASAP.

These next set of back ups are from a friend of mine that passed them along to me. Unfortunately, I recommended them to her and it didn't work for her skin. I am getting down to the very bottom of the bottles I am using now so I am so happy to have these.

I have a back up of the foundation I have been using for the past several months. I had originally planned on only using this during the summer to help with my oily T-zone but I am really happy with the way my skin has been since I started using this so I picked up another one to take my into Fall. The only thing I might have to do is use a more hydrating primer under it. We shall see!

Another elf gem. I found this in the same spot as the eye lash curler. For $1 you can't beat this stuff. I have gone through so many tubes of this stuff. It's great.

My beloved brow kit. I can't get enough of this guy. It's the perfect shade for my brows AND it doubles as eye shadow! Gotta love that.

You know how much I love Fit Me concealer. So of course I stock up on these babies when they're on sale! I picked up a more salmon toned Better Skin for under my eyes. I will let you know how I like it.

Last but not least, my concealer side kick, the Real Techniques Sponge. If you haven't tried this and you are a fan of the beauty blender, you have got to try these! They're only $5!

That's it, girls! Do you keep a stash of back ups? If so, what are they?
I hope you enjoyed this post!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
