Win It or Bin It: Wet n Wild Fergie Highlighter

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you all!

I hope you've had a good week so far. Today I will share my thoughts on a highlighter I picked up about 2 weeks ago.

Let's see if it's a winner or a binner...

First, I want to give you a little back story on this product. I saw these when they first same out and I didn't get one because honestly, it didn't look like anything special. About a month ago, my Mom and I were eating lunch and our server had the prettiest highlighter on. I thought for sure it was going to be Becca (Becca is a high end brand that makes gorgeous highlighters, but I'm too cheap to buy those). I asked her what she was wearing and much to my surprise it was this! I picked this up the next time I was at Walgreens. They have 3 shades in this line: Rose Champagne Glow (the one I have), Carnival in Rio, and Rose Golden Goddess. The other two are just too bronzy for me. I think if you have a darker skin tone or even a nice tan then you could get away with it. As for my pale skin, I will stick with the lighter one. I started using this right away and I haven't stopped or used any other highlighter since.

I will link to Walgreen's website down below where you can purchase. However, I would say save some money and pick it up in store. I got mine for a little over $3 because it was on sale.

You will notice from the photo below that the product looks as if it is baked and it has a domed shape to it. You get a very generous amount of product here. When I am applying it, I swirl my brush around the entire surface. It's not overly powdery and blends into the skin easily. I like that this product can give you a hint of shimmer or a LOT if you pack it on.

Here is a swatch of the product. I swirled my finger across the powder and picked that up. See what I mean about it can really pack a punch if you want it to?
The swatch to the right is what it looks like on the skin. It's gorgeous!!!

So, is it a winner or a binner?
WINNER!!! There aren't a ton of drugstore highlighters that are this good and this affordable. I would highly recommend this product. If you've tried this or if you have another drugstore highlighter you like, please share with us!

Thank you for taking the time to read today. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and I will see you on Friday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
