Hello everyone!
Thank you for joining me today! I am sure looking forward to the weekend! What about you?
Today we are talking about counting your blessings. This is something that I try to remind myself of just about everyday. I came across this quote on Pinterest...
For those of you who don't know me on a personal level, I, like most, have a very busy life. I work full time, workout daily, blog (duh). Not to mention the endless list of chores/errands that come with being an adult. UGH! It all can be very overwhelming if not managed properly. If you get overwhelmed and stay that way then you rob yourself of enjoying your blessings. For example: you wanted a bigger house so you move. Then you complain about cleaning it. You wanted a new job so you got one. Then you complain about the people you work with. See what I mean?? Now I am just as guilty of this as the next guy. I often will take my blessings for granted.
I did it just the other day, dishes had piled up in the sink (which I can't stand!) They piled up because Mr. Adela Told Me and I had been busy and tired so we didn't clean up the night before. Then the next day we spent time together. I stood in the kitchen and began getting very irritated and annoyed so I start washing the dishes and piling them into the dishwasher. In he walked (Mr Adela Told Me), I started to say something rude like "Uhh, can you help me??" and then he looked over and smiled and I thought "Why were you going to do that?". It's not his fault that the dishes are here and had we stopped to do the dishes then we wouldn't have spent time together. So I smiled back at him and went on about my business. I reminded myself of a time (years ago), I prayed, practically begged for God to allow us to move into a house. I wanted it so badly for us that swore if it happened I wouldn't complain about any chores. And you know what, friends? He opened the door for us to move into a house that was even better than I imagined.
Another example, Laundry. No one likes doing laundry but it must be done. I used to get annoyed with it. It took too long, I didn't want to put it away. Wah, wah, wah! Until the washer (or dryer, I can't remember which machine) broke and I had to go to a laundry mat...alone. Talk about a humbling moment! I took multiple trips to get our clothes into the laundry mat in the first place. Then I had to sit there and wait for them to wash. I looked around and saw people who had this thing down to a science. I'm telling you what, I will never take having a washer and dryer in our house for granted! Or that I even had clothes to wash in the first place. Man! That brought me right back down to Earth. haha!
What I am trying to say is this, don't take your blessings for granted. Count each and every one, no matter how small they might be. God wants us to enjoy our lives. So be thankful. If you ask for something and are blessed enough to get it, don't forget how much you wanted it in the first place.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have a story that you want to share, I'd love to hear it!
Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back on Monday.
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela
