Makeup Towel Review

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share something that I have found very useful AND it saves me money which makes it that much more exciting!

Some of you may remember me mentioning these makeup towels in previous posts. I stumbled upon these in some random aisle at Walmart. I have heard rave reviews about the Makeup Eraser towel (that seems to always be sold out at Sephora) I actually had thought about investing in one (when they came back in stock) so I pounced on these when I saw them. Especially for the nearly $3 for 3 towels! I have to admit I was skeptical at first, I couldn't understand how a towel with no product on it would remove my makeup. Specifically my mascara. So I got them home, washed them, and then put them to the test. First impressions were that the towel is a very soft material, almost micro fiber like. There seems to be a slight difference in textures from one side of the towel to the other. I wet the towel up and started wiping it over my face, much like I would with any other kind of makeup removing towelette. It took off ALL of my makeup! Even mascara! I was thrilled because it took a lot less effort to get it off with this towel than it does with the towelettes. I don't have to scrub or tug at my skin and that is a plus for me because I try to be as delicate as possible to my skin.

Needless to say, I have saved a ton of money in towelettes since using these towels. I do plan on getting another pack of them the next time I am at Walmart because they are that good! All I do is wash them with my Dove unscented soap after each use. I use each towel a couple of times and then throw it in the wash along with my other towels. I've had them for a few months and they have held up nicely.

I want to make sure to mention that I am only using this to remove my makeup. I still go in with face wash and thoroughly cleanse my skin after using this towel. I am still curious about the Makeup Eraser. I am kind of tempted to test them against each other, but lets be honest, I am too cheap for that! I linked this product below in case you want to check them out for yourself. If you have tried these or the makeup eraser, please let me know what you think.

PS- There will not be a post on Friday because I will be spending the day with my family. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and hope that you are blessed with a special touch of the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas to you!

Until next time...

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
