Faithful Friday: A Growing Christian

Hello everyone,
I don't know what it is lately but I am so amazed by God. He has done AMAZING things in my life. Things that only He could do. Sometimes I sit and think back on the time in my life when I wasn't putting Him first and then I look at my life now and I can't believe the difference! I realize that all of us are at different stages in our walk with the Lord so I want to share a few things that have really helped me along my way...

#1. I had to put Him above everything else in my life. Including myself, my family, my job, EVERYTHING!
Once I did that, everything fell into place. As simple as that sounds, that's how it worked!

#2. Remember the times when you are on fire for the Lord. You know that fire in your soul that just feels like you can move mountains? Like you can tackle any and everything? Remember that feeling! Write your feelings in a journal, write them on a post it note, write them somewhere so you can easily re-read your feelings during the times that you're not feeling so strong.

#3. Pray A LOT! I have gotten to the point where I pray first thing in the morning when I brush my teeth, on my drive to work, at night before I go to bed. And sometimes I even pray and don't realize it till mid prayer. It's like I talk to God like He's my BFF (I just totally laughed when I typed that because that sounds so funny!) It's important to realize that you don't have to be on your knees at the side of your bed to pray. God's ears are always open and He hears your prayers no matter where you are.

#4. Study His word. I have a really hard time with retention so I started Scripture Writing. Just google "scripture writing plan" and they'll pop right up! It takes less than 10 minutes a day to copy the scriptures and it really helps me remember what I just read. Then I take a moment to reflect on something that stuck out to me and note that. It's important for us to arm ourselves with knowledge of His word. It gives us a way to fight off false teachings.

#5. Put satan in his place! satan has no place in my life, my home, or anywhere but the hell that he lives in! Trust me, he will attack you. Like NON-STOP! Especially when you start growing. The last thing he wants is for you to be close to the Lord. So once you start to get closer he will throw all kinds of things in your path. Don't fall for it! Don't let him win. If you notice those things coming your way, stand up for yourself. Fight for your faith! This has been one of the hardest things to deal with for me. There have been all kinds of areas in my life where he has tried to get at me but "Not today devil!" is my favorite thing to say. This girl belongs to Jesus! (Not kidding! I can't tell you how many times I've had to say that very thing!)

Those are just a few things but they have really helped me so I thought they might help you too. I'm serious, guys. This walk with God is no joke. It's the most beautiful relationship I have ever been in. He loved me even when I didn't love myself and He was there waiting for me when I came back to Him. I am so thankful for His mercy and grace. We serve an awesome God don't we? I am so thankful for my life, for each and every one of you, and for the opportunity to share my faith with you.

I hope that you all enjoyed this post and learned something from it.

Enjoy your weekend, friends!
Until Next Time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
