Monthly Favorites: April

Hello everyone!
Welcome back to another Monthly Favorites! This year is flying by! I've got a good group of things to talk about this month so let's jump right in! As always I will link to what I can below.

Here we go!

Favorite Candle: Garden Rain by Mainstays (Walmart Brand)
I'm sure you all have seen this in a favorites before. If not, then you've definitely heard about my obsession with this candle! The Walmart in my area was recently re-done so the candle section was pretty sad for a while. Last time I was in the aisle was completely restocked! (Queue angels singing) So snagged up two more candles and some wax cubes in this scent. I typically burn this candle downstairs on the bar in my kitchen. It's a very clean scent. It's not too over powering but it is strong enough to notice when you walk into the room. If you're into rain/water scents then you will love this!

Favorite Drink: Iced Caramel Macchiato
Delicious! Because it is starting to get warmer in my neck of the woods I have been enjoying iced coffees in the afternoons. Especially on the days when I'm feeling a big sluggish or have a busy afternoon at work ahead of me. These are the perfect pick me up!

Favorite Perfume: Loveswept by Philosophy
This is the only fragrance I own from Philosophy. I randomly gave this a whiff in Ulta and I really enjoyed it! It's one of those fragrances that almost seems like you're not wearing a perfume but you just smell GOOD. I usually wear this during the day or when I am going to work. Yes, folks I wear perfume at work. Not a ton but just enough to smell nice.

Eyeshadow/Palette: L'Oreal Cuppa Joe Quad
I've had this little guy for quite some time now. It's such an easy palette to use. All of the shadows are matte and easy to blend. If you're in the market for a good, affordable, neutral, matte shadow quad then give this a try. I've taken this on so many trips and vacations because it's compact but it packs enough of a punch for you to get a nice eye look out of it.

Blush: Makeup Revolution "Make Love Instead" Baked Blush
This blush is gorgeous!!! It leaves the prettiest sheen to the skin. It can be applied lightly for a touch of color or built up to a very noticeable cheek. I am so impressed by this line thus far. It's only carried at Ulta as far as I know and it is VERY affordable! When wearing this blush I don't have to use a seperate high lighter because this is shimmery enough on its own. I love this blush!

Lipstick: NYX Butter Lipstick in "Pops"
You guys know I love a brownish aka 90's kind of lip. I love it so much that I haven't stopped wearing this kind of shade since the 90's! This lipstick is very comfortable on the lips. Because of the "butter" formula it's very creamy and has a nice sheen to it. I've worn this alone and with a darker lip liner and it's just a beautiful color. It goes with pretty much any neutral eye and looks pretty if you just have mascara on.

Lip Treatment/Chapstick: Blistex Soft and Lush Chaptstick
I'mpretty sure this is a repeat favorite too. I buy these things likely they're going out of style! I have one in my purse, one in the beauty room, one by the couch, one at work! You get it, these things are EVERYWHERE! The smell is awesome! It smells like the most delicious vanilla cupcake you've ever smelled! Plus it really moisturizer cracked lips well. I started using this in the winter when my lower lip was cracked and it healed it up within a couple of days.

*I forgot to take picture of this product*

Face Wash: Complexion Perfection by Perfectly Posh
Don't say you didn't see this one coming! I posted a video recently about my Skincare Update and I talked about this and the next 2 favorites in it. This stuff has changed my skin! It's so smooth now and my skin tone is much more even. It feels so good on my skin because of the peppermint oil in it. I look forward to using this stuff every day!

Facial Moisturizer: Moisturize 911 by Perfectly Posh
I swear to you guys that I'm not just plugging Posh because I'm an independent consultant now! I loved these products before I signed up. They're just SO GOOD! I use this product morning and night. It gives the perfect amount of moisture to my skin. It doesn't make me oily during the day and it really hydrates at night. I haven't touched another lotion since I started using this because I love it so much!

Eye Treatment: Impish Eyes by Perfectly Posh
Ok, last Posh product for today! Another thing I can't live without. I have really puffy under eyes and this de-puffs them like no other! Seriously, it's like magic in a tube. If you try one thing from Posh I would definitely give this a try. Especially if you have puffy undereyes, like me.

Body Wash: Caress Evenly Gorgeous
I got this a while back when it was on sale at Walgreens. It smells SO GOOD! It's super scrubby too! If you like caramel, brown sugar type scents you will love this body scrub. I use this pretty much every day (as you can tell by how much I've used in the photo) It really helps get rid of that itchy dry skin feeling. Even Mr uses this!

Random: Apple Watch
Never in a million years did I think I'd own one of these but I do and I love it! It's especially helpful at work because it will alert me when I get a text. I can even reply from the watch so it's very convienent. Another thing I really enjoy is that when my phone dies I can still do what I need to do from the watch till my phone charges up. Apple products just own my life!

Well you all, these are all of my favorites for the month of April. I hope that you all enjoyed this post. What have been some of your favorite products this month?

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
