Faithful Friday: Happy to be...

Hello everyone and welcome back to our first blog Faithful Friday in a loooong time!

Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding through me being so busy! During this time of year, work gets insanely busy and therefore, when I get home, I am wiped out! Also, I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for your comments and response to my personal update video (in The Adela Told Me Blog Group on Facebook). You all really helped me feel like I was not alone in that struggle and I really appreciate you!

On to today's post!
This quote perfectly states today's message.

Sometimes I feel like it's so easy to get caught up in life that we forget to be happy/thankful by appreciating small things or even to be happy/thankful with our life in general. I know sometimes I can start to focus in on the negativity around me and forget all about how blessed I am! Well, that is just nonsense! There is nothing that should take my happiness! So, I have made a point to be happy with the smallest things. For example, I do not like getting out of bed in the morning! But I choose to be happy that I had a nice warm bed to sleep in. Then I choose to be happy that I have a job to go to (even when it's crazy busy, I am grateful for it!) I have found that if I wake up with that "I'm going to be happy" mindset, then the rest of the day is a piece of cake!
Another thing I like to do is to start and end each day with prayer. You know that I am always on the go and because I like to sleep in as late as possible...I pray in the morning when I brush my teeth. I know that seems silly but God understands me perfectly! Then at night I pray before bed. Since I started doing this I really feel more thankful and happy.
The point of this message is that I urge you to find joy in the smallest things.
Wake up in the morning and decide to be happy and you will be amazed at your results!

That's all I've got for you today! This was a short and sweet Faithful Friday but hey, it's a start, right?

I hope you all have a great weekend with your families. There will not be a post on Monday because I will be with my family that day. For those of you that are from military families, Thank you all for your service to our great Country. Please remember that Memorial Day is more than a 3 day weekend, take a moment to appreciate those that gave their today's for our tomorrow's.
That is not something my military family takes for granted.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
