Faithful Friday: Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Hello again,
Thank you all for being so patient while I was away. For those of you that don't know, I have a blog group on FB where I post a ton of extra blog/Adela/Random stuff! So please be sure to join us there if you want more of my craziness in your life! haha!

Today we are talking about something that has come into my mind over the years, even before blogging. I think this is something that is particularly important for younger girls and even for us older girls too! It is so, so, SO important to Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful
You're probably asking yourself how this applies to a Faithful Friday, right? Let me explain...
There is a TON of pressure on us women (or young girls) to do our hair a certain way, to do our makeup a certain way, to dress like this or that. That is NONSENSE!
One thing that really bothers me is when beautiful people are comparing themselves to others. If you have a young girl in your life, Please remind her constantly that she is beautiful. I know we all go through that awkward phase of feeling like you don't fit in or being unsure of yourself. So please encourage her and help her realize that she is beautiful in her own way. It will pay off when she gets older. She will grow into a woman that is confident, strong, and wont be treated poorly by others.

Women of any age can agree that some of us constantly compare ourselves to others. Don't do that! Your hair doesn't have to be like hers, you don't need the best outfit. For example: I try to be cute when I get dressed for church but I am horrible at putting outfits together. So sometimes, if I get annoyed with clothes, I will throw on some cuffed skinny jeans, a t-shirt, and some sneakers and head to church. Jesus doesn't care what I'm wearing! and you know I'm not lying because you've probably seen me wearing that at church. haha!

Another thing, stop tearing each other down! Strong women should be building each other up and supporting the ones who are having a hard time. Cheer each other on! Be proud of one another! Love on each other! Just think of how many more friendships you could have if you practiced love instead of hate. Don't be clique-ish. Don't be mean! I mean, would it kill you to smile at someone??
I could do an entire post on that topic alone. (Rant over!)

In a nut shell- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! No matter what you look like, what you dress like, or whatever it might be. If you are ever having self-doubt, remember that you are the daughter of a King! He has amazing plans for your life and created you the way you are for a reason. He thinks you are beautiful! and as a matter of fact, I think you're beautiful too!
So I urge every single one of you to Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful.

I am going to wrap this up here, I hope that you were inspired by this post.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
