Be Present

Hello everyone!
Thank you for joining me today. I was thinking about this the other day and it is something that I constantly try to remind  myself of so I decided to share it. This may have been something that I've touched on before so if you feel like you've read this before... you might have! haha.

I think it is so easy for us to focus on the future or something else that you miss out on the phase of life you are in right now. For instance, The topic of marriage and babies comes up fairly often in my life. (Like, ALL OF THE TIME!) I sometimes feel myself getting so absorbed in the answers to those questions that it can become all I think about. Which is not OK with me! I don't know what the future holds for me, none of us do! That isn't the point of this post though. My point is that if I become so focused on the future, I will miss out on life right now. I realize that most of you might be married or have kids now so that might not apply to you. So I will give you some other examples...
Say you just moved into a small apartment or first home. Naturally there are going to be some things you don't like about it or wish you could change. You can't wait to get into the "New" house. But there will be a time (like when you have to actually clean the new house) that you will wish you could go back to that little two bedroom place you started out in.

My point is that there is always something to look forward to. It is good to look forward to what the future holds for us because the future is exciting! Just don't get so stuck on what's going to happen and miss out on what is happening RIGHT NOW. Just a little something to think about...

I'm wrapping this up here! I like these short and sweet posts and I hope you do too.
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
