Where's Adela: A Little Update and Be a Blessing

Hey everyone,
I know I have been MIA for the past few weeks. So I thought I'd take some time to give you guys a little update on what's been going on. I got really sick with a disgusting cold. BLEH! It took the wind out of my sails for a few weeks because my asthma was acting up too. On top on that I had a birthday (which I was sick for boo!) There have been several other things going on so I will just say... I haven't had the time or energy to blog again. The good news is that I am feeling MUCH better and I am pretty sure the cold is gone!

There is one thing I wanted to share with you all...
Please have open ears and eyes to see and hear what is going on around you. Sometimes people are hurting or going through something and maybe they don't feel comfortable sharing it with you. It is so important for us to share our love with others. Especially if we are Christians. We have been called to love people like Jesus does but if we're honest... We probably don't live up to that daily. I've seen and heard of so many people I know going through difficult things over the past few months and my heart breaks for them. No, I might not be able to "fix" their problem. I might not have the "magic words" to make them feel better but I can offer my love and support (and prayers) and sometimes that's all we need when we're feeling down. It is so easy to get caught up in life that you miss things happening right in front of you. I say that because it's happened to me! If you do happen to find out that someone you know is struggling then reach out to them. Let them know that you care and show them love the way Jesus loves you. Isn't it amazing that He loves us SO MUCH that he died for us? He loves us even though we fail Him everyday. I mean, think about that... Jesus died for ME and I am "so busy" that I can't take the time to reach out to someone (eye roll) Doesn't that sound lame?? But it's true! We have been shown the most beautiful example of unconditional, endless, never failing love through our Saviour the least we can do is share that love with others! What I'm trying to say is... we are so blessed and I think it's time we start being blessings to others.

Thats all I have for today friends. I hope that you enjoyed this post and I apologize if it was a bit all over the place. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do on these Wednesday posts so until then you'll get these. Haha! I hope your week is going well so far. I'll see you back on Friday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
