Faithful Friday: Realizing I Am Without Rival

Hello again,
Thank you for joining me for our first Faithful Friday in a while!
Today I want to talk about an audio book I have been listening to for the past few weeks. It is called "Without Rival" by Lisa Bevere. I heard Lisa speak at a women's conference a few years ago and I really liked her. When I saw that this book was coming out I knew I had to get it, especially when I realized There was a catch though... I am HORRIBLE at reading books! 9 times out of 10 I will end up falling asleep or getting side tracked. So I was thrilled when I found this in an audio book on itunes. Without ruining it for you, I will say that in a nut shell it gives us the opportunity to realize that we are without rival because God created each of us to do a specific task for Him, or some might call this "a calling". I really am enjoying this book. It goes beyond just finding out what your calling it. it helps you really understand how much God loves you and how special you are. I love this book and I recommend it to every person that is reading this. One thing that you need to know is that she gives you a few "Discussion Questions" after each chapter so be prepared with a notebook and pen to write things down. Needless to say, I have really been enjoying this book and feel like I have gained a lot from listening to it. It's very convenient to have it on itunes because I can listen to it whenever I have time.

I am going to wrap this up here, friends. I hope you have a good weekend and I will see you back on Monday... with a Halloween Tutorial!!!!!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
