Monthly Favorites: September

Hello again,
Thank you all so much for joining me today! I thought we'd kick off October and me blogging again with a good ole "Monthly Favorites". I have been keeping my make up pretty simple lately so I don't have a ton of products and I even forgot to take photos of some of them because well, I'm rusty. haha!

Here we go!

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray-
I am always in the need of a good setting spray. Especially an affordable one! I decided to give this a try for days when I am just going to work or don't really have anything important to do. I didn't have high hopes for this because it's so affordable and it's made by Wet n Wild. Honestly, most of the time I find that WnW products are hit and miss. I either love them or I can't stand them. There doesn't really seem to be an in between. Anyway, this setting spray is really nice. The sprayer releases a ton of product so make sure you hold it a good distance from your face. You might feel like you've been splashed by Shamu after you spray this but fear not, it dries down fairly quickly and leaves a nice finish to the skin.

Milani Rose Blush in Romantic Rose-
I have loved this blush and gotten so much use out of it since I bought it and you can see from the photo that I hardly made a dent in it. This blush goes with any kind of look. It's neutral, it's matte, and it's just gorgeous! Definitely a must have blush in my collection.

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter-
I was on a highlight purchasing mission a while back and I decided to order a few new ones from Ulta. This one caught my eye because it's so affordable (do you notice a trend with me and affordable makeup?) When I saw it in person I thought it looked like a normal face powder because it doesn't have that overly shimmery look to it. But once this is on the skin it looks AMAZING! Seriously, amazing! It gives the prettiest sheen to the skin. Almost a dare I say, natural look.

One Smart Cookie Caffeinated Lip Balm from Perfectly Posh-
You know there couldn't be a favorites post without at least one Posh product! I am a lip balm fanatic so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this delicious scented lip balm. I was so impressed that I purchased an entire little box of these! They really moisturize your lips and the hydration sticks around way longer than any other balm I've tried. They smell amazing! I'm thinking of giving these to friends as part of their Christmas gifts. Spoiler alert. haha!

Essence Lash Princess Mascara-
I think I have talked about this in a video before, if not, I will fill you in. One of my friends is obsessed with mascara. She has awesome lashes to begin with so I always like to see how mascaras look on her. It just so happened to be her birthday so I sent her a 2 pack of these mascaras I saw online at Ulta. Then I was checking out at Ulta and I saw the same 2 pack so I snatched it up! We both agree that this one is the better of the 2. It builds up really quickly and is really, really dark on the lashes. The only complaint I have so far is that it flakes off during the day. Even though that is the case, it still really like this mascara and will definitely get another tube of it when this runs out.

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette-
This was in a BoxyCharm I received last year or so. I have gotten a ton of use out of this palettes. In fact, when I use this it makes me want to subscribe to BoxyCharm again. haha! My only complaint is that this doesn't have enough matte shadows in it so when I use it I have to reach for another palette. The picture doesn't do this palette justice, the shadows do have a beautiful shimmer to them and they really make the eyes pop. I ususally will use this and apply the shadows directly to my lid, then blend a lighter matte shade in the transition area, and a darker shadow in the outer corner.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Stick in Bluffing-
I'm thinking this shade was limited edition because I couldn't find it online. This is a really creamy shadow stick that blends nicely. However, once this thing is set, it's set! I apply this all over the lid and blend it out with my finger, one eye at a time. I then will apply a shadow (which is usually from the Revealed Palette) It keeps my shadow in place all day. I might get another shade of this now that I have looked at the website. This one in the photo is a taupe shade and there is a really pretty bronze one I just saw on the site. I might need that one!

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer-
You all know I am a huge fan of the Rimmel Matte BB Cream so naturally I snatched this little guy up when I saw it in stock  at the drugstore. This really does keep you matte. I tend to get oily in my T-zone but not when I use this stuff! It really blurs out the skin and looks nice without anything applied over the top. But honestly, if I am going to put on a primer then I'm going to wear makeup. Otherwise it is completely bare faced (with the exception of SPF and skincare)

Snowed In Vanilla Mint Sugar Lip Scrub by Perfectly Posh-
I had to include this lip scrub because it is so yummy! The fruity sugar scrubs stole my heart when I was first introduced to Posh and don't get me wrong, I still love them and use them. However, I have found myself reaching for this one lately because it's more of a Fall/Winter scent. If you haven't tried these lip scrubs, you're missing out! They're so effective even though they're not harsh on the lips. They taste and smell amazing and they are the perfect product to prep your lips for lipsticks and to keep dry, chapped lips away during the cooler months. I love this stuff! I can't forget to mention that this adorable little tin is perfect to keep in your purse for on the go scrubbage!

Now for the favorite I forgot to take a picture of...

Marshmallow Fireside Candle from Bath and Body Works-
I have been burning this candle for the past few weeks because it is such a comforting scent to me. I keep this candle on the bar in the kitchen/living room area. It fills the rooms with it's cozy smell and I can't get enough of this. I usually go through one of these candles a year because it's one of my favorite scents.

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
