Halloween Tutorial #2: Cheshire Cat

Hi everyone,
I am back with our 2nd Halloween Tutorial! I thought this was such a great idea! I love when you can paint your face and not have to worry too much about Halloween Costumes because honestly, they're expensive and you'll probably only wear it once and be done with it. Before I forget to tell you... my ears are from Hobby Lobby. Right now all of their Halloween stuff is on sale so I snatched these little feather cat ears up because I thought they would be so cute for this tutorial.

Let's get started!

I had to post this pic because I thought it was a really cool effect I got using my picture editing app. I think it makes the mouth look extra creepy and Tim Burton-ish.

Here is a real picture of the final look. I am really happy with the way this look came out and I hope you enjoy it too!

I applied this look right over the makeup I was wearing today that way I knew that you busy bee's (like me) could pull this look off if you already had makeup on.

To add a pink hue to my face I applied this hot pink blush in the areas where I normally would apply bronzer. So from my hair line working my way down the face. Continue building the color till you get the shade of pink you want. Remember to start out light and add on. It's much easier to add on color than to take it off and start all over again.

You also want to bring the color down to the hollows of your cheeks, nose, and chin.

Next I took this bright plum color (the picture isn't picking up the correct color because it was dark in the beauty room when I did this) on a big fluffy brush and applied this to my crease.

Don't forget to bring the color all the way down the sides of your nose!

We are done with eyes for now. Let's move on to the brows!
I took a matte black shadow on an angeled brush and applied this to my brows like I would with any other brow product. The only difference is that I wanted my brows to be way more dramatic than they usually are (as if black wasn't dramatic enough)

Then I went in with the plum color again and started shading in the inside of the brows.

Then the hot pink blush on the inner most corner.

Back to the eyes! I chose this hot pink shadow for the lid. I wanted a big impact from this shadow so I applied it with my finger instead of a brush.

I totally skipped taking the photos of this part because this gel liner was SUPER dry and hard to work with. I actually ended up completely smudging one of my eyes. Nothing a little bit of eye makeup remover couldn't fix.
So what you will want to do is apply a dramatic winged liner and line your waterline with a black liner.

I smudged this sparkly black shadow along the black liner I just applied.

I wiped the brush off really well and then smudged a shimmery purple shadow along the lower lash line too.

Next it was lash time! I chose super long and dramatic lashes to go with this crazy look!

Next is my favorite part! Our smile! I took a white NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and drew the outline of a huge smile. You'll want to take your time when doing this to make sure that you get the smile as even as possible. Once you have your outline done, you'll want to fill the entire thing in with white.

Another session that I didn't take photos of. Basically I took a black eyeliner and traced the smile. Don't forget your little swirls! Then go in and draw your teeth. Because you are layering this over the white it will get a little gray but that's ok. You can go back over them to keep the color nice and black.

I forgot to add a highlight under our brow so I took this matte white and popped it right under the brow.

and we are DONE!!!! All you need is a black outfit and your ears!

Here are some pics of the finished look. I have to tell you guys, I LOVED this one!
Is it not the most glamorous Cheshire Cat ever?!?

I thought these little fluffy ears were adorable!

Well friends, That is all for today! I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial. If you try it, I want to see pics! I'll see you back for another Halloween tutorial soon! I am shooting for Wednesday but I have a Baby Shower I am prepping for and that will be taking all of my attention SO if I don't have time to do another tutorial I will have another one for sure on Monday!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
