Exciting News: I've been nominated for The Liebster Award!

Hello everyone and Happy Hump Day to you!

Here's my exciting news! I woke up this morning and my dear friend, fellow blogger, and YouTuber, Stacey. If you like it straight to the point and total honesty, you'll love Stacey. She always gets me laughing with her funny comments. I've included links to her blog and YouTube channel below.

For those of you that don't know what the Liebster Award is (myself included-until this morning). It is an award that is for less known bloggers, just like me! You can read more about it on Stacey's blog. I was very touched and excited to know that Stacey thought enough of me to nominate me. Thank you SO much, Stacey!

Part of this nomination is that I have to answer questions Stacey made up for me.
(I copied and pasted the questions below because I am too lazy to re-type them. Haha!)

Here we go:

1. What was your initial thought when you heard I nominated you for the Leibster Award?
I was very excited and shocked. Especially when I learned about what it was.
2. If you could only have one beverage for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Iced Tea. Specifically, My Mom's or mine.
3. What is your most favorite beauty product?
Mascara! Hands down. I am slightly obsessed with it. It's not uncommon for me to have 3 tubes or more going at the same time. Currently, I have 5 tubes open in my vanity.
4. If I said let's go hang out, what would you plan for us to do? I'm lazy, I don't plan things.
Lunch then shopping...Dollar Tree, CVS, and Walmart to browse the wax aisle.
5. What made you decide to write a blog?
Friends have told me for years that I should start a YouTube channel. I had recorded a few videos and I would get annoyed watching myself. I started my blog because it was a way for me to embrace my love for makeup, nail art, etc. I also love sharing my tips and tricks with others.
6. Are you mad at me for finding your picture and posting them?
NO! I am happy that you picked the one you did. Thank you for not picking one of me making a weird face or with no makeup on.
7. If money was not an issue, what is the first thing you would do?
Here comes my Miss American answer! I have been asked this question before and I always get a weird response. Let's see what you think...If money was not an issue, I would open a home/center for abused women and children that would give them a safe place to go and help them get back on their feet.
8. What is your favorite and/or most time consuming app on your smartphone?
Pinterest for sure! That thing is dangerous. I can spend so much time on that if I'm not careful.
9. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love living in California-we have mountains, beach, and desert here. So it's hard to imagine living anywhere else. I would like to live in Alaska though. I just think that is such a cool place. It's really open and so vast.
10. If Hollywood was going to make a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?
Jennifer Aniston. She is a natural beauty and I've always liked that about her.
11. What's one thing that always makes you laugh?
This is going to sound so mean and rude. But, it's the truth...Someone tripping. Even if it's me. I can't help it. Yes, I'll ask you if you're ok but I will be laughing hysterically while doing so.

Another rule is that I was to nominate 5 bloggers that have under 200 followers. Unfortunately, I don't know of any! I am so new to this blogging thing that I only follow Stacey as of right now. If you have a blog or are new to this too, please share your blog information so I can check it out!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
