Boxy Charm: First Impression

Hello Friends!

I decided to post this as a "bonus". If you'd like to see more of these (monthly) let me know. I signed up for Boxy Charm last month. Boxy Charm is a monthly subscription service. For $21 a month you get 5 full OR luxury sized samples. Each month has a theme. The box I received today is the "Fashion Week Fabulous" box for September. Now I did have to go on a waiting list but within 3 weeks I was taken off and given a chance to sign up.

On to the first impressions!

I received my box via USPS. The box came in good condition. My one gripe is that the tracking information was never updated online so I had no idea when to expect my package. There was an issue with the shipping zip code, which was promptly fixed from the people at Boxy Charm.  I'm hoping next time the tracking won't be an issue.

This is what the box looks like. The shipping label is affixed to the other side.

P.s. Excuse the photos. I was getting my hair done while I took these. I'm the Master Mutli-Tasker!

Inside you'll find a card telling you about the box.

The other side of the card tells you about each product and it's retail price. As you can see this box is worth way more than the $21 you spend on it! There are also some coupon type cards included.

Now for the fun stuff! These are the products included. They are all full sized products. Awesome!

On to the products!
(Keep in mind I haven't tried or even swatched any of these. If you'd like a review, please let me know and I'll work that into my schedule)

Tarte LipSurgence lip gloss in Park Ave. Princess~
This is a very popular shade by Tarte. The gloss smells nice, like vanilla. It's a shimmery nude.

Costal Scents Go Pallete in Moscow~
This is a gorgeous pallete! As the name implies, it's perfect to travel with. I am really impressed with the shadows. I'm looking forward to using this for Fall.

NCLA nail lacquer in Catwalk Queen~
I've never heard of this brand before. It says it is a 5-free lacquer, no animal testing, and chip free. We'll see about that! As far as color goes, it is a very creamy nude shade. I don't own anything like it so I'm excited to try it.

Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperlight~
The description of this says "luminizes and brightens under eyes and along cheek bones" I'm a little weary of this product. I'm hoping it isn't too shimmery for my under eye area.

Hello by Harvey Prince~
I was really impressed by the size of this perfume sample. Although, mine did leak in transit. Lame! It smells very fresh and clean. Notes are Meyer lemon, white grapefruit, and satsuma mandarin.

That's it! What do you think about this box? If you subscribe to Boxy Charm, what was different in your box?

As I said before, if you want me to review these products please let me know!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
