Hey there!
Halloween is just around the corner which means it's time for some Halloween tutorials! Yay! I love Halloween and this time of year in general. Today's Lovely Leopard look is an awesome way to save some money on a costume. All you have to do is paint your face up, throw some black clothes on, or even leopard print leggings (fun) and go!
Pin your hair back and let's get to it!
Here's what you'll need:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (available at Target or Ulta)
Assortment of brown eye shadows
Black eye shadow
Black Liquid Liner
Black and Brown Pencil Liner
(Keep in mind this is what I used for this look. You will be able to re-create this using any one of the black liners. I just happened to have them on hand so I used them)
Brushes
Face Primer
Step 1:
I skipped lotion for this look because I want this makeup to last. Milk is such a creamy product that we don't want it slipping all over the place through out the night. Apply a layer of primer all over your face and neck (if you plan on bringing the leopard print down your neck). Start applying the jumbo pencil in Milk all over your face. To do this, I started in the center of my face (nose, forehead, chin) and blend it out with my fingers and a makeup sponge. Continue adding more Milk to get a white base all over your face. You just want it thick enough that your skin isn't showing through but not so thick that it looks uneven.
Step 2:
Now we are going to start adding contours to our face. This is the first step in achieving the "cat" face structure we are going for. Grab a medium sized brush and bronzer and add contours to the hollows of your cheeks, forehead. Using an eye shadow brush and a dark brown eye shadow, contour down the sides of your nose.
Step 3:
On to the brows. We want to create wild, wispy brows for this look. Start by brushing your brows up. Take an angled brush and a dark brown shadow and create the look of longer brow hairs.
Step 4:
Now comes the actual leopard part of the tutorial! Hooray! This is where you're creativity comes in. Using a brown eye liner start making irregular shapes on the sides of your face and down your neck (if you want). Once you have as many "spots" as you want take a black eye shadow and a small brush and add outlines to them. Remember, you can always go back in and add more later if you want to.
Step 5:
Cat eyes are next! Using a black liner again...Cover your entire lid with a black base. I started with a black pencil and blended it over my entire lid. Then topped it with a black shadow (Carbon from MAC). Then for the best part, the fierce winged liner! I used a liquid for mine. If winged liner is hard for you, you can always use a piece of scotch tape and draw your line on that. Just be sure to stick the tape to the back of your hand a few before applying it to your face so it doesn't rip off all of the white base we put down. If it does fade the white, just re-apply it! Be sure to bring the liner down in the inner corner. Line your upper and lower lash line with a black liner. I used gel because it lasts longer. Apply mascara. I applied falsies because it's Halloween and of course I use any excuse to go all out.
Step 6:
We're almost done! Using our trusty black liner, Fill in the bottom of your adorable little leopard nose, draw a line down your cupids bow, and fill in your mouth. Draw your smile line a little past where it naturally ends. Add 3 small dots for whiskers.
