Boxycharm: Sparkle and Shine

Hey there!
I received my Boxycharm today. (Prepare for a rant) This was the November box. I repeat, NOVEMBER BOX. Why did I receive it in December? I have no idea, especially since I saw people getting their boxes way before I got mine. Ok, enough of that. Let's get to the box.

Here's what the box looks like when you open it...

This is the list of products it contains...

Starting from the top:
MicaBeauty Eye Primer-
I'm excited to try this product. It's a nude color which I assume will be great to even out the tone of your eyelids. It seems a bit dry and like it would be tacky once it's set. I'll be testing this bad boy out tomorrow.

OFRA Cosmetics Pressed Blush-
This is a beautiful cherry pink blush. The name of it is Paradise Pink. It does have a shimmer to it, which I don't mind. The pan is huge! I'm curious to see how deep it is. I'm looking forward to wearing this.

Tarina Tarintino Eyelicity Glitter Liner-
The color is Black Diamond. I haven't been a fan of glitter liners since I was a teeny bopper. So I don't know what on Earth I'll do with this outside of Halloween tutorials. It's clumpy, streaky, and gross feeling. I can't imagine putting this on my eyes! If you know something about glitter liners that I don't, please feel free to enlighten a sista!

Kevin.Murphy Color Bug-
Why? Again, am I a teeny bopper? If I wanted my hair gold...I'd dye it that color. My guess is they ran out of stuff to put in the boxes and no one bought these so they threw them in. Lame!

Bellapierre Shimmer Powder-
In the color Tin Man. This is pretty and I was excited to swatch this. I think this would look gorgeous on the lid for a holiday party. I'm looking forward to playing with this and see what I can get out of it.

That's it kids! What did you think? I think it's Meh. Yes, I liked 3 of the 5 products. But I'm not as wowed as I was with the other two boxes. I hope Boxycharm makes me fall in love with them all over again with their December box. That I'll probably get in January! Grr!!! I hope you liked it.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
