Brown Shimmery Eye Tutorial

Hello!
Today I will share this gorgeous shimmery brown eye look I came up with. The star of this look is a product I recently purchased at the drugstore. I will link my drugstore haul below. I have been really into shimmery lids lately and this is a look I have worn a few times and LOVE!

Here is a photo of the finished look. I think it's beautiful! BTW~ I'm kind of freaked out that my green eyes look brown in this picture. If you've met me in person you know that my eyes are totally green. Weird!

Once again, I used my beloved Revealed Palette. I can't get enough of this thing! There are so many great colors to choose from. Ok, now for the tutorial!

Taking this taupe/purple color on a fluffy brush. I applied this to my crease and blended it up towards my brow bone. Making sure to leave plenty of space for a brow bone highlight.

Using this shimmery taupe/purple color on a rounded crease brush I applied this to the outer corner and crease. I want the focus to be on the lids but wanted a little something darker to add dimension.

Now for the star of the show…NYX Roll On Shimmer in Walnut. A friend of mine told me about these (Hi Rachel!!) She really likes the Nude shade so of course I had to see what all the fuss was about. WOW! These things are gorgeous!!! If you're into shimmer with a bit of glitter, you've got to check these out. I rolled this across my lid and then pressed in in with my finger tips. Now the glitter in this will fall onto your cheeks so you can hold a piece of tissue under your eye when you roll it on.

For a brow bone highlight I applied this nude shadow on a flat shadow brush.

For the inner corner I applied this shimmery Ivory color. Using a small detail brush.

For the lower lash line I applied this bronze shadow with an angled brush.

This has been my new "liner" technique I've been liking lately. I like the definition a liner gives but sometimes I feel like it's too harsh. Basically I have been thickening my lash line with this black shadow in the palette. Using the same angled brush, I smudge a bit of the black shadow as close to my lash line as possible. I aim the brush to touch in between my lashes if I can. I find it's easiest to achieve the look I want if my eye is open and I look straight ahead into my mirror.

That finishes the eye look!
These are the products I used for the rest of the look. I curled my lashes and applied a few generous coats of Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Then dabbed a bit of this new Wet n Wild Lipstick in "Will you be with me?" Weird name, but I love the color.
I also lined my lower water line with a nude eyeliner and applied a Tarte blush in Classic.

See how the "liner" isn't really detectable but makes my lashes look fuller? I love the way that looks.

Just take a minute to appreciate the gorgeousness of the shimmer on my lids!
This picture doesn't do it justice. It's so eye catching!

I hope you enjoyed this look. If you check out the NYX Roll On Shimmers, let me know what colors you like or buy. I saw some other colors that I wouldn't mind adding to the bunch.

Until next time…
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
