Empties: Home Edition

Hey there!

Thank you for joining me today and Happy Wednesday! As most of you know, I hang on to my makeup and beauty related empties so I thought this would share my "Home" empties. We all use products like this but they're rarely ever talked about. If you like these posts please be sure to let me know. Otherwise, I can skip these and post something else. I am going to breeze through these as fast as I can and tell you want I think about each product.

Here we go!

These were the biggest items in the bag so I picked these first. These are little bits of heavenly scent that you dump into your washer as it's filling. They leave your laundry smelling fresh a lot longer than using just a dryer sheet. I will add less or more depending on what I am washing; for clothes I use less than the lowest line in the cap. For bedding and towels I will fill that baby up. I find the best selection and prices at Walmart.

Now for our dirty mitts! I love the foaming hand soap from Bath & Body Works. I stock up, and I mean STOCK UP when it's on sale. I'm not too picky when it comes to scent with these. Anything that is foamy and smells good will work.

More Bath & Body Works loves. If you've been to my house then you know I have Wallflowers all over the place. Two in the living room, 1 in each bathroom, a couple upstairs. What can I say? I like my house smelling nice! These are another thing I stock up on when they're on sale. I prefer the sets of 2 because they are easier to pair when you have 2 wallflowers in the same room. I try to wait till they have them for $5 each and use a coupon. I believe these go for $12.50 normally. So it's a great deal when they're on sale.

Surprise, Surprise! More Tom's toothpaste. you guys know this is the only brand we use.

The rest is wax/scentsy warmer type stuff. So if you're not into that then please leave NOW! haha. Thank you for reading this post and I will see you next time. Bye!!!

Ok, wax lovers. Let's see what I've melted through in the past couple of months...
(I am breaking these up by brand or where you can find them)

First up, ScentSationals from Walmart (you can also purchase online but my Mom and I always go down the wax aisle in Wally World anyway so I scoop them up then). I really like that they are offering a bigger brick of wax now instead of the smaller ones. I believe the larger packs some with 10 cubes and the smaller ones have 6. So if you really like a particular scent, this is the way to go!
I'll briefly describe each scent from left to right:

Fresh Air~ Smells like musty air. No! It's smells really nice and fresh. I like to put this in the guest bedroom, or in the warmers downstairs. I have one in the kitchen and one in the living room.

Illusion~ I don't really know what the exact scent of this is. But it too is a fresh and border line masculine scent. I put this in the same places as Fresh Air.

Zen~ Oh, Zen! I love thee!!! I went on a rampage looking for this stuff last year when I thought Walmart wasn't carrying it anymore. This is a minty scent and I can't go without it. I put this in the warmer in my bathroom and sometimes my bedroom warmer when I am feeling stressed or have a headache. I have a ton of these on hand and I am happy to tell you that they not only have these in the 6 cubes packs and the 10 cubes. Yay!

Better Homes and Gardens. More waxy goodness from Walmart.

Vanilla Caramel Spice~ I love this in the Fall and Winter months. It is the perfect blend of spice and vanilla. If you like sweet, cinnamon scents you will love this one. It is strong though! I only use 1 cube per warmer of this one. I use this downstairs in the kitchen and living room warmers.

Sugared Lavender Twist! Meh. It was good but it wasn't so good that I need to get another one. It has a nice lavender but the sweetness was just too sweet for me.

Enchanted Pumpkin Valley~ I love this scent! So much that I got a candle in it. Sadly, just about every person I've had smell this doesn't like it. Boo! However, when it was melting in my house they love it. If this comes out again this Fall you better believe I will be snatching up a few and maybe even another candle.

Salt Water Winds~ I think this was a new summer scent this year. It's a fresh ocean type scent. I haven't seen it the past couple of times I've been to Walmart, but I would pick it up again if I came across it.

This next batch of wax might be something new to most of you. This is my "vendor wax" which means I have purchased all of this online from small home based businesses.

Here we have FussAss McGee. The only kind of scents I have tried from them have been relaxing or mint type scents and all of them were AWESOME!!! I will link to their website below in case you want to check them out.

Cucumber Mint~ Fresh cucumber with the tiniest bit of sweetness and a nice fresh mint. I used this in the kitchen.

Nighty Night~ I don't remember the blend on this one but it was a lavender goodness. So calming. I melted this in my bathroom and bedroom.

Peace Offering~ I am getting this and another one confused. This either smelled like a Lush store (which I love) or it was another minty type scent. i should have smelled the box when I took the picture but I didn't think about it.

Up next is Front Porch Candle Co. I was obsessed with Front Porch when I first got into vendor wax and I went over board ordering SO MUCH WAX. I have given a lot of it away since and I am down to the stuff I really like. In fact, I hardly have any of it left now. I haven't ordered from them in a couple of years and as of right now, I don't plan on it. The link to their site is down below.

Apple Orchard~ It was a nice apple scent but it gave me a headache. That happens to me with fruity type scents. If they are too perfume-y then I can't use them.

Lemon Noel~ One thing I loved about Front Porch is their "noel" scent. If you are familiar with the Vanilla bean noel from Bath & Body Works then you know what I am talking about. It's a caramel, vanilla, marshmallow kind of scent. That mixed with lemon was perfect! I melted this in the kitchen and living room. I had a few of these so I used them all up.

Vanilla Noel~ Smells exactly like the Vanilla Bean Noel from Bath & Body Works. it was amazing! I put this baby all over my house. This was my last 4 pack of these so I am out now.

Tiffany Candles is one of my favorite vendors. I still order from her when I am running low on my favorites.

Sweet Dreams~ This is a light lavender scent with a hint of sweetness. I melted this in my bathroom and bedroom. It's a perfect scent to melt at night.

Fresh Fruit Slices + Rock Candy~ This was a sample she sent to me in an order. It was one of her chunklets, which is a mix of two different scents in a cube. I really liked this scent. it was super strong. I melted this in the kitchen.

The two on the left are from a company that closed so I wont even bother talking about those because you couldn't get them even if you wanted to.

The two on the right are from a company called "Sweet Fixations". this was another company I ordered a ton from. I still have a few left but I am getting down to the bitter end. She has some really awesome scents. One of my favorites is called "Heavenly Honeydew" it is heavenly! if you like sweet fruit scents. you'll love it. I don't remember what these smelled like because I melted them so long ago. But I do remember that they were good and very sweet smelling. I melted these in the kitchen.

Lastly we have a sample that was sent to me by my wonderful friend, Jen. She is in the process of starting up her own home based wax company. Aside from that she sells Mia Bella candles. She was kind enough to send a wax sample to me. I usually wouldn't go for this kind of scent but I really liked it and it was very strong. If you are  a candle lover you should definitely check them out. Her link is below.

And that is it! I know it was a lot of wax, but keep in mind that I have 5 warmers in my house and I change the wax out every couple of days. So I go through it fast. Please let me know if you liked this post and if you'd like to see more of these in the future.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
