Smokey No Liner- Liner

Welcome back!

Thank you for joining me today. Did the title throw you off? How is a liner, liner without liner?
I'm glad you asked. Haha!
This is a trick I learned from MannyMUA on Youtube. I watched the video so long ago that I can't remember if the way I do it looks like his but either way, it is gorgeous. Yes, people. I did say "HIS" Manny is a super talented make up artist. Once you get over the "that guy is wearing makeup" you kind of get jealous because he looks so good! I'm not going to get into the whole- a guy wearing makeup thing. I appreciate his talent and the makeup he does is amazing! I've worn this look several times since I saw him do it and I always get compliments on how pretty it looks.

Enough blabbing, Let's get smokey!

I have already done my foundation, concealer, brows, bronzer, eyelid primer, and all- Basically, I am doing my eyes as the last step today.

Take a piece of tape and apply it once or twice to the back of your hand so it looses some of it's tackiness. Then apply the tape under your lower lash line at an angle (I aim for the end of my brow) .

Prepare yourself for an incredibly awkward photo. There is not a glamorous way to take a picture like this...

I am using my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette and Mac's Soft Brown and Charcoal Brown to create today's look.

First, I apply this ivory shadow, "W.O.S." all over my lid up to the browbone. This really helps with the blending process.

Then I take MAC's Soft Brown and apply it to the crease using windshield wiper motions and blending up towards the browbone. This will serve as our transition color and it adds the perfect amount of warmth to the look.

Taking MAC's Charcoal Brown I darken my outer corner and crease. Remember, we want the colors very smokey in the outer corner and lighter as they come in. So take your time to deepen your outer corner as much as you like.

Using this dark brown shadow "Crave" on a small rounded brush I darken the outer corner even more and start to create the "liner".

Go back in with the same color and a flat (or angled) liner brush and concentrate the darkest color where the tape meets your skin. Continue bringing the color across your lid. I usually go about half way.

Then taking the small rounded brush again, I gently smudge out the shadow. Making it nice and smokey. Feel free to go back in and add more color if you need to.

When you've blended to your liking, gently remove the tape.

Ta-Da!!! There is your "No liner- liner"!!

Now, you can leave the line harsh like it is, if that's how you like it. Or you can take another blending brush and gently blend the line the tape has created. I typically will blend the shadows out a bit but I try to stay away from the wing as much as possible. Here I am using the same brush I used to apply the nude shadow all over the lid. The little bit of shadow left over really helps to blend the line.

To finish off the look I will take the same shadows with a flat liner brush and make the outer corner dark and fade it in as I get closer to the inner corner of my eye. However, you can leave the lower lashline bare if you'd like.

Next, I curl my lashes and apply mascara and nude liner to the water line.

And we're done!

See how the shadows get lighter as they come in towards the inner corner? That is EXACTLY what we want!

I love the sharp line the tape creates. It really lifts the eye.

One more, just because I can't get enough of this!

Believe it or not, this is a very quick process once you get the technique down. I can do this eye look in about 10 minutes. Please let me know if you try this and what you think. I'd love to see pics!

For the rest of my face I used:
The Balm Hot Mama Blush
Wet n Wild Fergie Highlighter
Milani Nude Liner (I filled in my lips with it)
NYX Butter Lipstick in Pops

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
