Hello everyone!
I hope this week was good to you. Today we're talking about being loving. That might seem easy enough, right? You love your husband (or at least I hope you do). You love your kids, and so on. However, even though you love someone doesn't always mean you will having a loving attitude towards them. I am going to share my thoughts on how to show love even in the toughest of situations.
How did I teach myself to be loving? A major way was teaching myself not to instantly react to situations. Most of the time we react based off of emotion. Someone is mean to us, so we're mean back. Someone says something nasty, so we're nasty back. Nothing new there. This can lead to some very hurtful and damaging situations. Then we end up feeling guilt and regret. No one needs those feelings lurking around. Aside from not wanting to feel guilty there is an even larger reason for not acting out. We are called to love one another as God loves us. Really?! That is easier said than done my friend!
Now don't get me wrong, I'm the last person that will allow any one, and I mean ANY ONE to walk all over me. I'm not saying that you need to take abuse or non sense from people. By all means, stand up for yourself. Just do it in a loving way. Even if that means you love your self enough not to take it. I am one of the most no nonsense people I know. However, after years of writing people off that irritate me, make me mad, or do things I don't agree with. I have decided to TRY and I stress the word "TRY" to live in a more loving way. I wish I could tell you it's a walk in the park, but it's not. It's hard to live up to this standard. So why do I do it? Because it's what I have been called to do as a Christian woman. Allowing the Holy Spirit to live within me doesn't mean I get to pick and choose what I want to surrender. No, ma'am. If you want to grow you have to be willing to allow EVERY aspect of your life to change for the better. Gulp! So keep that in mind if you're praying for spiritual growth. God is going to test you and in turn that will make you stronger and help you grow, Trust me, I am living proof of this! Months ago when I first started thinking about blogging about my faith I felt like something was in the works. I don't know what that something is just yet. But something is definitely happening here.
I could go on and on but I will wrap up here. Please let me know what you thought about this post.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time...

Adela
