Faithful Friday: Be Still

Hello everyone!
Thank you for joining me today and Happy Friday!!! Today I want to talk about the times when you need to be still. Some of you may be familiar with this...

I love this verse and I say this to myself regularly. Why? Because we live in a world that revolves around now. We can rule the world from our cell phones, computers, or ipads. When I was growing up, very few of us had cell phones. You had to check in with your parents from a friend's house phone. When you were out of the house you were out! We actually went outside to play! Those were the good ole days! Anyway, Sorry for that tangent. Back to the real post.

What I am trying to say is that we are so used to having everything NOW: We want someone to respond to our texts NOW, answer our emails NOW, answer the phone NOW. What does this have to do with "Be Still"??? All of the now-ness we are accustomed to has made us very impatient. As for me, I am SUPER impatient. So it is hard for me to "Be still" when I need to be. It might  be waiting for an answer on an important question, a decision on something life changing, or even the smallest thing. Sometimes if I'm upset or feeling down it's very hard to "Be still".

So how do we remind ourselves to "Be still"??  Find something that is a trigger for you. For me, all I have to say to myself is "Be still". I have made a point to force myself to stop and be still in the midst of whatever is going on. No, I'm not saying that I freeze in place. haha! If I am feeling anxious, nervous, mad, sad, or most of all impatient. I will pause, take a couple of deep breath, and remind myself that God is in control. He has changed my life in so many ways, there is no denying that He has a wonderful plan for me. If we rely on Him and look for His guidance in our life, everything will be as it should. Isn't it amazing that He wants us to be still and know that He is God? I love that!

Well, friends, I am going to wrap this up here. I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
